~To live, love, and journal our days at~

This week has been spent cleaning, exercising, and more cleaning. I seem to be in a hurry to get everything done, why, I don't know, unless it is because I had gotten so far behind. I am thankful the kitchen is clean and I am enjoying having that part of the house done. The laundry room, breakfast room, and pantry are also marked done on my list. Everyday when I finish a task, I always give God the thanks because without His strength, I couldn't get any of it done.

Usually you are suppose to show a before and after photo, I didn't have the nerve to take any before pictures. LOL My excuses are I had a lot of company at Christmas, and after everyone left, I got sick and wasn't able to do anything. Do you think that will work?
Today I did the pantry, and laundry room. I went through the staples in my pantry, and got rid of outdated items. That is a very hard thing for me, because when I throw something out, I remind myself of all the hungry people in the world. At the same time I say a prayer for them, and ask the Lord to help me to be a better stewart of what He has blessed me with.

Since I have not been on my computer, and I have had a lot of time to think while I work,I have been thinking about all of the blessings God has bestowed on me and my family. My desire is to have a more thankful heart. It is so easy to complain and I find when I complain that I don't have a thankful heart.

An example... Today my dh went and paid property taxes, I found out the Tax office had increased out property taxes by $4000.00, before I knew it I was so complaining. After a while I was pricked in my heart by the Holy Spirit, and once again reminded in Philippians 4:6,7~ Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. I memorized this scripture a very long time ago and find that I rely on it more and more.

So I will now be thankful that God supplies the monies for the taxes, and I will pray for our Commissioners to be replaced with people who will not raise peoples taxes so high and that the money will be spent more wisely.

How about you? What are you thankful for today?
Hugs,
Sue

I am thankful for our wonderful family and my friends ♥ I've had a hard time over the last year and without them (and that includes YOU) I would have given up a long time ago. You did a wonderful job on your cleaning! It looks so pretty!

Hi Sue!

Sounds like you have been a busy girl! Sometimes I feel like I am so far behind, it would take all year to get caught up. But, you've given me inspiration, watch out kitchen cupboards! Your kitchen looked beautiful, so warm and inviting. God does give us the strength we need, for big or small tasks!

Have a wonderful week-end.

Blessings,

Barb

Hi Sue, What a beautiful kitchen! It looks so homey and looks like someone could just drop in for a cup of tea. $4000 dollars! That is a huge tax increase! Oh my goodness. I might be a bit grumpy about that.
I am thankful today that it is stormy outside and I get to sew all day!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Sue, i needed to read your post today. it confirmed the EXACT thing my honey and i were talking about last night.

like you said, it's so VERY easy to complain instead of cultivating a thankful heart.

thank you blogging friend, for sharing!

Philippians 4:4-8 and 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 are my 2010 scripture verses.

Like you I find myself praying vs. 6 and 7 ALOT...the peace of God which transcends all understanding..SIGH...

Oh how thankful I am for His love and His Word that He has given us to armor ourselves against this battle we experience on a daily basis, living on the front lines actually..standing our ground to keep our peace, our joy our inheritance from the enemy (John 10:10)

This weekend was an extremely busy weekend for me. I got so much accomplished and it feels so good.

Today, well I ended up having a two hour nap, LOL. Was at Church all morning and didn't get home till 1:30...Fighting a cold that is trying to get a hold of me,,,

Well, I'm thankful for my family, my health, my home and so many other things. One of which is finding your blog today! I'm inspired to get to work and get some cleaning done in my house. I've gotten so far behind that I feel like it's "too much" now! But I know with God's help I can get something accomplished. Thanks for being an inspiration!

Sharing thoughts from my heart with you,

Thank you so much for coming by, please come and visit anytime.

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
