And this is how my day went

Can you guess where I went today? I had not been to my hairdressers in a few months. I was long over due for a haircut. Earlier this week I mentioned to Mr P. That I needed a hair cut, his response was "sure, call and get you an appointment."

And I did, last night I mentioned to him that I had an appointment today, his response was"I really like your hair the length it is. but do what you want to", I am thinking "what"and here I have this appointment, now I am confused should I cut it or not?"lol

I decided to go and just have a trim. And you know how that goes.lol My hair dresser said it was real heavy and I really needed it cut, and she did. I must say I was so pleased, when I got home and Mr P. came in his response was "my your hair really looks great, you look ten years younger." And they say women can't make up their minds. lol

Afterwards I decided to go and do some window shopping, actually I had a fifty dollar gift card from Kirklands, and I really wanted to see what new spring stuff had come in. I looked and looked , but just could not make up my mind, so I left empty handed. I wasn't disappointed because I knew they would be getting more new things in.
I then went to the grocery store, because I already was in town. I really do not like to shop for groceries on Friday, way to busy for me. But because of getting my hair done today, I decided to make one trip.

While there they had freshly baked chicken on sale with $3.00 off, there was no way I was going to pass this up. I bought two thinking I would freeze one, and we would have some of the other for dinner.

After I totaled the cost, that is with making 5 or 6 meals, that the cost per meal would be about $1.35, pretty good deal I think.

I came home and after putting groceries up,went to the pantry got a jar of garden peas and yellow squash out. You either love or hate yellow squash, and we just happen to love them.

I really am thankful for being able to grow, and preserve our vegetables. It is work in the summer, but in the fall and winter you can put a meal together real quick. And one that is delicious too, I must say Mr P. enjoyed his meal.

All and all today was a refreshing break for me, as I haven't taken to much time off lately. God is always so gracious to me, and I am so thankful to Him for all of my blessings.

And this is how my day went, now how was your day? I hope it was filled with many blessings too.
Hugs,
Sue

Dear Sue, what a nice day! After all that cleaning. It sounds like a nice Friday thing to do. I hope you have a very nice day outside today. I am chopping weeds! It is supposed to rain, but it hasn't yet. I am sure you house looks so nice, and yes, I didn't post but I cleaned the shelf I am afraid of, and got stuck on it. 2 of my kids were gone and the 3 was in the shower, so I had to sit and wait. Then he wanted to hold me for ransom. :) I did get down though.
I hate that shelf. It is clean now,
though. Have a nice weekend.

Wish you had taken before and after pictures of your haircut! I'm at the same stage....my hair feels too long to me but hubby likes it this length. I really do need just a "trim" though!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! It is always so exciting to see a new name and then come and look up their blog. I will be back to visit again I know! Headed back to church right now so can't look as much as I want to.

Loved going through your day with you. I SO enjoy posts like that. When I had an msn group, I would have a few posts a week called Whatcha Doin?..lol. we would get more comments on that one thread each time it came up. lol.

Your post made me feel like I was along with you actually..I so enjoyed my visit with you.

My 20 year old is asking to get a garden going this summer (had one for many years now it's just perennial flowers and bushes and such). He is taking landscaping in College. I have been seriously thinking of starting again and well now I have my son who wants to start it,,God IS good.

Hi, Sue! This is Cheryl from thinking-about-home...and I want to thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving your sweet comment.
In looking at your profile, I see that we have lots in common. I, too, love the Lord; enjoy decorating, antiques, and cooking; have four children and seven grandchildren (well, one of them is due to arrive in September!). Thanks for introducing yourself. :-)

Just hearing about your productive day made me happy. Good for you, Sue!

(I'm wrestling with the hair length thing. Mine is longer than it has been for a long time. With the coming of spring, I'm thinking I need to do what YOU did.)

The chicken bargain price was great! Makes you "feel good" to stumble on such a good deal, doesn't it?

Hope your days continue to be full of serendipitous happiness.

Hi Sue, I wondered where you have been. You are so very kind to visit. I think you are sort of a present I look forward too. I am so glad you are just enjoying the warmth of spring. We are having snow in the mountains and it has turned very cold. I laugh at it because I know it is almost over. Today was my oldest 3 year old grandsons birthday so we had a party. On Saturday it is my next 3 year old twins birthday and we will
go over to my son's and daughter-in-love"s house.
Our grandsons were born 3 days apart. The twins were born at 28 weeks. So they are our miracle gift
from God. They are just perfect.
I am so glad you remember that show
with Ronald Reagan.
I loved when he was our Governor in California and I loved him as our President. First election I ever voted in was for him.
Take care and I look forward to when you post. You always cheer me up.

Blessings my friend,
Love,
Kim

Hi Sue, Thank you for stopping by my blog. Your day sounds wonderful. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I am still on a blog break, but I am showing really old posts. This one on the tractor was my 3rd post from the very beginning in 2007.

It will be awhile before I post new things as I am caring for my MIL who has Alzheimer's disease.

Bless you and have a good week. Kathi

Hi Sue, I followed you here from another blog. I immediately felt that you were a kindred spirit. We have so much in common...God, the Waltons, Anne of Green Gables, Andy Griffith. Okay, so the TV is the main thing we have in common, heheh...

Blessings,
Debby

Oh yeah, I LOVE Kirklands!

Wow Sue, I know you have been busy, thank you for stopping by, you always make my day. Yes, It makes me happy too, when I get double yoked eggs. It's been awhile. Oh, take a picture of your grandmothers Hoosier cabinet. I would love to have a pie safe, my Mom left one that is filled with her cookbooks, but as of yet I don't have the heart to even go back to her house. I will later.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and you bless my day.
Love,
Kim
