~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

This is Memorial Day weekend, a time we set aside to remember, honor and reflect on the men and women who gave their all for their country. I have been doing some reflecting about the price that has been paid so that I can enjoy the freedoms I have in America.

Having been reared in a Military family, I know the sacrifices that are made both by the one who serves as well as the family. The separation when the family member is deployed is so hard on the family especially children,  I remember missing my father so much, and praying for his safety.

I will be eternally grateful to the men and women who sacrificed their lives and for those who continually place their lives in harms way for these freedoms.
Mr P and I make it a priority to pray for our Military Troops and their families as well as America. Please join us as we lift them in prayer daily.

Moina Michael replied with her own poem:
We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.

As you know, our grandson, Will is deployed, we have only heard from him once, Please pray for him

I think about that all of the time. If it wasn't for the sacrifices of the Men in this country we wouldn't have the freedom we have today. You have a good thought for us today. I hope you enjoy your time this weekend, and I look forward to hearing what you have been up to,
Now I am off to prepare food. :)

We are so blessed to live in the country we live in - even if it is in chaos!

My father served in WWII, but could never talk about the horrors he saw. He, in exchange, was very patriotic and loved and honored his country and those who served in it until the day he died.

God Bless America!!

Hugs,
Barb

Good Morning Sue,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. I did and I am glad to get back to normal. :) I bet you are glad to get back to your things too.
I always enjoy your visits. I was thinking about a comment you made, about if we lived close, I wish we did and I bet we would have so much fun and I would love to show you how to make soap, just not in your pot. That is a bunch of soap! I love that we both have the same antiques and house, and we love the same books.
I am so thankful that God loves us so much to give us such good gifts.
I hope you have a lovely first week of June.
***Hugs***

Dear Sue, Thanks for your kind comments. I don't think you have to worry I will quit, last night my husband was trying to tell my why I needed a second blog. :) I love writing, there are few things that I feel called to do and right now, this is it. I pray and every day God gives me something to write. If I was writing and it was just for you, I would be so happy, because most of the time, it is you I am thinking about. :)Really, without your encouragement on that morning I might have quit. I think sometimes we just get tired, and down and then someone comes and gives us a reason to go on. So because I feel like you are that for me, if I quit, and I am not, I would still send you emails. :)
