Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

And this is what I have been doing

Our front porch isn't suppose to look like this. What a mess! lol

It's suppose to look like this.

It has been under going some major renovations, at least to us. lol. But hopefully we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For the past two days we have been caulking every single post and any other nook and cranny that needed it, getting ready for painting; which by the way I should be doing at this very moment instead of on this computer.lol
In between caulking we have been canning veggies. Yesterday more squash went in jars. wahoo!! later this week pickles have to be made, this always is busy time for us. A good  busy time. I really do enjoy putting up the fruits of our labor for winter. Kinda like the squirrel does. Did I just compare myself to a squirrel? I guess I did, as a matter of fact I do feel kind of squirrely. (I am sure there is no such word.)LOL
I must run and I hope to visit some tonight, hope your day is filled with many blessings.
Hugs,
Sue

Sorry, Sue, Goggle has been wonky for me today, it has a problem with me commenting. I just wanted to say that even with your porch in the process of being worked on it still looks beautiful and I would still sit on it with you. :)
You are such a busy lady. I am so impressed with all that you are getting finished. You have to take a picture of your pantry when it is all filled. I love pictures of full pantry's full of jars of food.
Have a lovely day today.

I misspelled google too. I need to be outside and not on this computer too. Sorry. :)

OK...OK... OK...
This is the third post that I have read this morning which makes me want to tackle my front porch.

I think God is trying to tell me something...
He couldn't have told me when it was just a teeeeeny bit cooler?
Maybe I was not listening.

I just love your porch...it is on my "dare to dream" house one day. I had a porch when the kids were little and loved to set under it during the rain...so peaceful.
I also enjoy your canning stories...gonna go pick blueberries next week. Remember I am a total city girl so this takes effort on my part.
Enjoyed...always so relaxing to come to your blog,
Janette

I agree with the commenter who is impressed with all of your work! Are you a high energy type of person, Sue? Or are you the slow-and-steady type who gets a lot done?
I am such a slow worker...and, I'm afraid, highly distractable. I'd LOVE to think I could accomplish what you accomplish in a day's time! :-)

And your porch is going to look beautiful (again)!

Hi Sue!

Thanks for the nice comment today - I always love seeing your sweet face in my comments.

I love your porch! It is so beautiful with the white curtains - so inviting and peaceful. I would never be able to keep the curtains clean, the wind never ceases in Idaho! We live in the country, so I get good old potato dirt on everything - I have to dust twice a week.

Next week we are having all new lighting in the kitchen and bedrooms, and new bathroom fans put in, that should be a mess, but something that has needed to be done. We are trying to get everything renovated that we need to, before my husband retires in a few years.

I love to can! I can't wait until my garden has produce for me to put in jars :-) I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed that everything comes up this year.

Good luck with your caulking, my motto is that, "caulk can cover a multitude of problems", at least for me! Have a very blessed Friday sweet friend.

Hugs,
Barb

My Goodness Sue! I am exhausted from reading all that you get done in a day!!! Your efforts really show~ your home is so beautifully inviting. It seems like I work hard, I just never get any task complete, so I have nothing to show for the hours I put in to anything~
Your veggies look yummy too!
Have a beautiful weekend, and thank you fo your sweet anniversary wishes!

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work to paint your porch but I know it will be beautiful when you are done. You and your hubby are amazing!!

Just popping in to say that I'm a complete airhead and couldn't figure out which of these two blogs to follow.

I was planning to click both, but I don't find a follow button here. So... I just clicked the other one. Hope I'm doing this right. I enjoy reading here and don't want to miss out on a good post just because I'm blonde.

Hello, love the porch - very inviting. We are in the midst of painting our house - everything is out of order! That's a lot to handle for a girl who likes things in order.
And,
I too have mentioned squirrels. But, the context was - that like in the movie up, I am easily distracted!
God Bless,
Kathy

Hi Sue,
My name is Heather and I'm not sure how I found your blog...except it was through one of the other lovely blogs that I read :) :) :) I love the pictures of your porch. It's very beautiful..I've always dreamed of a porch like that where I can sit outside when it's raining even :) :)
Love the music too. I was thinking about adding that to my blog. Did you find it easy to install? Is it easy to add more songs?
Love, hugs and greetings from Oregon, Heather :)

Hi Sue,
I've enjoyed getting caught up with you today. Your porch is exactly what comes to my mind when I picture a southern porch. Big, comfortable , beautiful and a perfect spot to enjoy the company of friends and family.
I am amazed at all of the canning that you and your mother have accomplished. It looks so pretty and sounds delicious.
Thanks for your recent visits and kind comments.
