~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

Today was one of those days where you just wanted to curl up with a good book, and a nice warm cup of cocoa, and that is my simple pleasure for today. It was cold and rainy, I do enjoy fall days like this as well as the bright, sunny ones.I didn't curl up though until this evening after dinner, it was a nice simple pleasure that I looked forward to all day. I even put on my Christmas pjs.  lol......

When November comes, I greet it with  much anticipation, fall is my favorite season, but Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite holidays. I have been saving holiday books and magazines for years, and at this time I get them out and begin to read and make my plans. So today was a a very good simple pleasure, these books have seen a lot of wear and tear, but I never get tired of reading them.

I like to decorate for the holidays early, and I combine Christmas and Thanksgiving decorations. It is a personal preference, one I learned from my Mother, she always made our home sing when the holiday came.

It is sometimes the simplest things in life that we find so much joy.
Hope your day was filled with many simple pleasures.
HUgs,
Sue

That's a great simple pleasure. Nothing like resting and relaxing in a good pair of pjs.

What a great day! I love your jammys! We had a 85 degree day and we will have one tomorrow. But soon I know it will be cold. I was going through my magazines today looking for my Christmas ones too.
It was just that kind of day.
I love your Simple Pleasure days.
Have a wonderful Thursday Sue.

Girl, when I read some of your posts I HAVE to smile, because I do some of the SAME things you do....

I save my Fall and Holiday Mags, too!! I love them so much...

I chuckled at the pj/warm socks/cocoa/Holiday Mag photo. You do know how to get cozy! That's doing it right!

I am retired and can pretty much set my own schedule. I had one of those rainy, book-reading days planned for earlier this week and wrote about it also--It did not happen. ha! until that evening just like you. But it is one of my very favorite simple pleasures.

Most days I look forward to nothing more than pj's and curling up with something whether it be crocheting, a bowl of cereal, or a magazine. Just the time to relax and be is so wonderful after a crazy day! Wishing you all the best as you plan for the fast approaching holidays. :) Tammy

Believe it or not, I'm even pulling out the warm PJs here in south Georgia tonight. I woke this morning to discover that it's FINALLY time. Woohoo!

I couldn't agree more about the simple pleasure of cocoa in the jammies.

Slippers are a must, too.

I just ordered some new pj's, but they aren't "Christmas-y" .... I had never considered decorating for Thanksgiving and Christmas together, but it's a wonderful idea!

These are my favorite holidays too!

I love this time of year...I guess it is the snuggling in and getting comfy and cozy...

I save magazines and books about the holidays too...they help me plan special events and even just help me be creative at home!

Hi Sue,
From what I can see of your pajamas their very seasonal & cute. I like the idea of combing Christmas & thanksgiving decor. I cant decorate this year due to my new crazy puppy, who's eaten furniture, even chewed-up part of staircase etc., I think I need a donkey :o)
God bless,
Michele Katherine

I love drinking hot chocolate in the evening when it gets cold too. I usually drink it after I put Mary to bed and the house is quiet:) I so enjoy those simple moments.
