Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

And so it goes.....
Written by Sue, Friday March 11, 2011~
Mr. P saw these first thing this morning and said" I think you need some fresh flowers.".... I was thinking  they had a few more days left in them., don't you?

He goes to run his errands, I leave to get mine done and didn't think any more about them.
I came home this evening and saw these sitting in the laundry room  sink  in a bucket of water. They smell so good and are so pretty.

I made two bouquets one for my kitchen window,...
This one for my bathroom, so I get to see them first thing in the morning.

I am blessed and thankful beyond words!!......

Not a whole lot going on here at the farmhouse this week, I am maintaining the rooms I have cleaned and am waiting to finish next week. After all these years I am finally learning that it doesn't have to be done all at once. lol. Who says you can't teach and "old Dog new tricks?" Life is to short to sweat the small stuff.

I am a people watcher, I like to observe, (not stare),.... While shopping at one of my favorite stores today(T. J. Max), I was watching and listening to some ladies who were out shopping together, they were in the housewares dept. and it was so much fun listening to them talk about dishes, and how they were trying to talk this one friend into buying some dishes...Yes! I am guilty, I was there for the very same reason. I am thinking "what is it with us ladies and dishes?" We all love them. We might have our cupboards full but we are always looking for more...
She bought hers, I didn't LoL. I was able to walk out with not one dish in my hands. "Sue, You must be slipping."
Enjoy your Saturday,
Sue

I am laughing at your comments about dishes! I have often said that if I had more storage in my house, I'd fill it up with dishes! I LOVE them...and having limited space to keep them is sometimes the ONLY thing that prevents me from purchasing more and more and more! Ha! :-D

What a nice surprise waiting for you at home...beautiful flowers from your sweetheart. Enjoy them!

Dear Sue,
That's a really cute and funny story about the dishes :) :) I'm glad you were able to leave the store without buying a dish, because you know what? The next time you're there, there'll be an even cuter dish...and you'll be able to buy it then :) :) I think for me I'm like that when it comes to yarns :) :) I"m glad you had a fun time people watching :)

Those flowers that Mr. P picked for you are so lovely. Now you'll have daily reminders of his sweet gesture :) : Plus, the colors are fabulous ;) :)

Have a lovely weekend. love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

I would rather have a "lagniappe bouquet" anytime, than one hundred roses on Valentine's Day. I know Mr. P loved seeing the smile his surprise brought to your lovely face, Sue.

Best wishes for a beautiful weekend.

Flowers act like a tonic on us, don't they? Your husband is a very thoughtful man :D
I have been looking for new dishes since I finished my kitchen redo last year. Of course, they'll have to be red dishes and I just haven't found the right ones. My oldies are getting pretty chipped. Let's keep looking!

I would've enjoyed listening in on that conversation myself. My hands are sometimes so stiff and sore that I rely on my good old lightweight Corelle. Still, I see all the pretty dishes in Blogdom and I want something prettier. Sigh. I'll be a good girl. Perhaps I just need to recycle the Corelle. They've been around for eons.

Your hubby is a sweetie pie. Mine brought me a breakfast pastry this morning. I'm sure that your flowers are not going to add any pounds. :D

Maintaining what we've already accomplished is a big chore so don't discount that one! You're right. We don't have to do it all at once the way we did when we were young wives. Nope. Just doesn't work that way anymore. Actually, I'm not sure that it ever did.

Well you have nudged me in more than one way...I am going to do some spring cleaning, which I have been avoiding and then go celebrate by picking up some fresh flowers!

Oh dishes at TJMaxx...I have some I have been watching. I enjoy dishes and started collecting years ago. There is so much out these days.
Have a great weekend.

What a sweet surprise to find that lovely bouquet waiting for you in the laundry room sink. The vases you put them into are so pretty.
I smiled when I read about your trip to TJ Maxx. I often stop in there to check out the dishes. They have such cute things at great prices.

Hi Sue!

I have had fun reading your blog, catching up on the last few posts you made! What beautiful flowers - I can hardly wait for something with color to pop up in my yard!

Love the story about Lucy, what a beautiful girl she is! I love having a dog! We have a beautiful Black Lab, that I would not give up for the world!

I need to start my Spring cleaning - it just doesn't feel like Spring yet! Your entrance is beautiful, very inviting and warm! Love your blog!

Hugs,
Barb

Too funny, Sue! I am the one none of my friends really like to shop with, because I am the one who can walk out without anything!! HA!!

I have to LOVE something before I can spend money on it!!

You must be the same way!
Love you!
Have a blessed Sunday!

Hi Sue,
What pretty flowers! Your husband is a sweetie!
I appreciate the message you left for me. I haven't posted or commented much these past few weeks. All my spare time has to go to family right now. But I do hope to return to regular blogging soon.
