~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

"Just being silly"

Mother said,"there would be"
days of total bliss~

Days when everything would seem to be so perfect~

Days that I wouldn't be able  to make up my mind about anything~
And there would be  days that I would know exactly what I wanted~

There would also be days that I absolutely didn't want to do a thing~
OH! MY! Mother said  there would be days like this too~
And like this~
There would be many days when I would feel so special~ OH! Yes!

Mother also said that I was never, ever to do this~

Is there anyone besides me who was given such "wonderful", sound advice?
A very wise woman there be, for I have experienced all of the above!(yes, even some eaves dropping here and there, and maybe a smidgen of gossip) Hey!! you know I've been around for awhile. lol
Which day are you having today?
I hope it is a day of total BLISS!

Sue

So cute! My mother always gave me the very best advice, too. Not shaping up to be a day of bliss, but who knows how it'll end? Thanks for the fun post.

Smiling over here after reading this fun and cute as a button post. I just love all of your vintage pictures and can also relate to several of them.
So glad to know that Will arrived safe and sound. When I looked at my 22 year old son this weekend, I couldn't help but think of your Will. My prayers will continue for his safety.

Yes, this is a very cute post!
The pictures made me laugh....Today is a busy day, homeschooling my grandaugher. We use Sonlight curriculum and are studying US History "The Revolutionary War" then on to the Civil War and so on. I'm pretty sure I am learning as much if not more than she is so for me I will have to say that...........I am having a perfect day!
Blessings

Cute post - love the pictures. And yes, I received lots of advice (all good) from my Mom!

I'm visiting from someone's blog, but I can't remember whose... Happy @ Home, I think.

Love your blog!

I love this post, Sue! My day isn't like any of them. There isn't a picture of a harried women searching every store for festive pencils that do not exist.

My favorite picture of all is the husband finding the silver. That is so "MY HOUSE".

I'm glad to hear that Will made it safely!

"...Far be it from me to sin against my LORD by failing to pray for him" (can't remember the reference, but Samuel said it, and I though the scripture applied.)

Rejoicing with you that Will made it safely to his destination.....

and I will def. be calling his name out in prayer... (I already have been, actually)

What a neat post... I Love all those vintage photos and the advice that went with them....

Texas hugs,
Jenni

Hi, just love this post! Where would we be without our Mother's wisdom? So glad your Will is safe. Just read your post on him and it made me teary eyed. Our daughter is 21 and joined the Navy 3 years ago.She is stationed in Hawaii and for me, it feels like she is stationed on the moon. I miss her so much! Prayers for you and your son! blessings,Kathleen

I couldn't help but giggle because all except for the silver fork being thrown out, I have done all the above! I'm good in the burning food department!
