Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

Oh! what a beautiful morning~

Written by Sue, Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011                     Beautiful fall day, sunny, warm 70's

For scrubbing the porch,.. Our autumn keeps getting better and better. It has been a very long time since we have had a beautiful fall, like this one. It makes up for all the scorching, hot weather we had  this summer.~grin~
"Mommy, are we really going to clean the porch today?"  "Yes Lucy we are."  "Oh! boy! I can help!!"

Mr P's job was to scrub the ceiling, outside eaves and rails,   my job was to clean the wall, floor, and windows.
"this really looks like helping Lucy!!" "I didn't know you were going to use soap and water!!" says Lucy. She absolutely is allergic to soap and water, ....so she says.
All finished!! it took us most of the day, but so worth it!
WE need to put the furniture back on, which I did, but forgot to take a photo. Now!!! on with the decorating.. soon!!! I  like to have the porch clean before decorating for Christmas, yes, I said Christmas.~smile~ You know it will be here before we know it.

I have also been busy this week with cleaning and fluffing the inside, very slow with this too(only one room completed) ~lol~, if I don't soon hurry, Christmas will have come and gone. still lol

For today, I am so thankful for beautiful autumn weather, and a clean porch!

So how was your day? I hope it was filled with many blessings.

Giving thanks for you today,
Until next time,
Sue

Hi Sue,
Looks like a job well done! I just love your front porch. I wish I lived closer and could come and visit with you, and sit on your front porch! It seems like such a peaceful place to sit.

The top photo of all the trees is just beautiful! Thank you for sharing your photos. Enjoy the rest of your week! :)

It truly has been a most colorful autumn here too. I thought it was from all of the rain we had this summer and yet you had very hot scorching heat. Either way... it is gorgeous!

Lovely clean porch! :)

Hi Sue,
I've missed so many of your posts in the last 3 wks. I had to go back and visit them.
Your porch looks squeaky clean and fresh! So glad your ring is on your finger now. It's beautiful!
Your Mom is beautiful! My mom turned 86 on the 8th. and she still cuts her grass. I can only hope to be that fortunate.
God has been so good to her and your mom.
BTW, I just got three more watches at my party. I learned how to change the batteries myself while the girls were here and to get them in a pkg. of 8 for $1 at the Dollar Tree store. I'm a happy camper! lol
The girls in my family keep giving me beautiful watches and this will be a huge savings!
Have a great day, friend!
Hugs!

Your trees are beautiful. I don't have a front porch, but I have a big deck off the back of our home. I sure miss my former home and its porch with a swing.

I like that you painted the ceiling blue. I don't know how that began, but I like it.

Love your dog, too.

You are always so busy. I need to get my porch railing cleaned before we put lights on it. We are having wind again today and tomorrow so it would be silly to try and clean today.
It looks beautiful around your porch though and the trees are just beautiful.
It is always so nice to get caught up with you.

We usually do our porch cleaning in the spring and then use it all Summer long. It's in need again, but that chore hasn't gotten back on The List yet!

Looks lovely! Seems like a wonderful place to visit and fellowship!

Your porch looks very similar to my in-law's porch. We'll get to sit on it in a few weeks and I'm sure I'll think of you at that time. :o)

Your porch looks gorgeous, Sue. So nice when husband and wife work together to accomplish a project, as I know you two do so often. I miss those times with my husband. I just returned from a week with my daughter and new husband, and the neat thing was I got to witness them working very well togetheralso. makes my heart glad!

Hello,

Not only do you have one of the most Awesome porches I've ever seen, but the views from the porch are off the charts beautiful. Also, Lucy is so cute, and clearly has a very wonderful life.

Today I am thankful for the smiling faces of the people I encountered while at the grocery store. It's amazing how just a kind smile from people we don't know, or have a conversation with can brighten anyones day.

God bless you friend, and many big hugs
~ Michele <><

Love the trees and the porch.
I love how you and Mr P are always working together. It takes a lot of work and time to keep up a home and a farm....I know! Raising and homeschooling my two grand daughters takes so much of my time that I struggle to keep up around here. Like you I take it one room at a time but by the time I get to the last area its time to start all over again.....Count it all joy! Right......We too have have very beautiful, long, warm, colorful fall with georgous weather however it looks like it is all going to change for us this weekend :o( hate to see it go...winter is very long around here. I have plenty to do indoors to keep me busy though.
Blessings!

Autumn makes me want to clean my porch, too! I just did mine recently, and then I even did some cosmetic changes too.

I agree that it just plain FEELS good to have a clean front porch.

Just popping in to say "Hi", Sue. I pray that your absence in Blogland is due to your being your usual busy beaver self...and not due to illness or troubles! Just know that you are missed.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
