Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

~Special gifts from Special friends~

Written by Sue, Thursday, Dec.22, 2011                               sunny, and beautiful, temps. 70's
Mr P. asked one evening if I was expecting a package in the mail. I said no, he informed me that the mail carrier had tried to deliver one that day but couldn't since the gate to our farm was locked. When that happens it is up to us to get to the post office and retrieve our packages, we didn't get there until two days later. We live out in the country and don't get to town that often. We picked it up Saturday, and what a beautiful surprise for me.

My friends Janette, from janettessage and her dear son Benjamin had prepared this very precious gift package for me. I wrote in an earlier post of how Benjamin and I have become friends, because he loves our farm and all the animals that live here. We have adopted each other. If you haven't visited Janette please do, you will be so blessed, I always leave encouraged, motivated and challenged!

Just look at all my goodies, Just couldn't wait to find a place for my pillow, salt and pepper shakers, and to drink  peppermint tea from my mug, while curling up with my special book, ~Jesus Calling~

I placed the pillow on the bed.
In this chair..
It now sits on the sofa in the living room where I see it more often. Look at the details, isn't it beautiful, Janette does beautiful work, thank you so much, Janette.

Benjamin knew I wanted some pigs so until I get my real pigs, he sent me these beautiful salt and pepper shakers. Now how thoughtful was he? Thank you Benjamin for all my gifts!
Yesterday while we were at the barn, the UPS truck brought an unexpected box, and  here is what was in it. Look at all those goodies. This is a Christmas gift from our son, daughter-in-love, and family. A special gift by Harry & David, so delicious. We have really been enjoying them, thanks so much guys!
Blogging has afforded me so many opportunities to meet and get to know some of the sweetest people. Never in my mind did I think I would become so connected to so many people that I have never physically met. I find myself thinking about my friends here in blogland through out the day, even when I am off line for days, I think, and pray for you dear friends, and when I receive tangible gifts, why  it is just the icing on the cake. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of your lives. I count it a privilege to know you.

I received a beautiful E-mail card from my friend Michele, what a blessing to listen to the music as I read those beautiful words about our Savior's birth. Michele's blog straight from the heart, inspires me with her thoughts and words of encouragement, her last post "When love was born" was beautiful.

Philippians 1: 3-4~ I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy

~Update on the sheep~
We had two more ewes to have lambs last night, and more problems, it seems a ewe had hurt her leg and can't stand on her feet for long, she had twins and we are having to help feed them for her, but hoping she will be able to stand today to feed.

Our little Noel, is doing fine she slept through the night last night. Susan is having so much fun being a mother to Noel, I found her talking baby talk to her last night. ~smile~ She still wants to give her a bath.

The hot water bottle keeps her warm., so sweet!
Thinking of you during this most blessed season,
love,
Sue

It just seems so fitting that you have little lambs to care for at this particular season. I know that your daughter is a great mama if she can mother a lamb.

Oh Janette and Benjamin are just the best! Love that pillow and the piggies. Too adorable they are. You know how Blogdom works...it won't be long before you'll be calling more of your "cyber" pals your very real ones.

Love to you and more blessings! Merry on!

Oh how I love Janette too! She made me a pillow when I started my journey with breast cancer, and it was a constant reminder of God's promises. Yours is just darling. I do know how you feel too. I find my mind wondering to people here in blogland, OFTEN, haha. I feel such a connection to some of you. I just love how God can bring us all together in spirit and heart no matter where we might be living. The lamb is soo adorable. Glad he slept the night, ; )....now if Mr. Sam just would, haha. Have a wonderful Christmas Sue!

Sue,

What sweet and thoughtful gifts! That pillow is great!

That little lamb is sweet! I read years ago that the shepherds would have been out on the hillsides watching their flocks by night because of lambing season. I now that is true because of you and your blog!

Have the Merriest of Christmases!

What lovely gifts from your family and friends. The tiny baby lamb is the sweetest thing!!! I am so glad your daughter took over the feeding, since it's mother rejected it. I wonder why animals do that?
I enjoyed the Christmas tour of your home too. Just beautiful!
Wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas!!

Love the gifts you received! How sweet! And yes, I feel the same way about the friends I've made here in blogging world! At first, my "real" friends would just sort of shake their heads at me when I would mention someone from blogging but now they understand also! I hope you and your family have a very nice Christmas! My hubby loves Harry and David and the other gift order treat catalogs and packages. He's always looking through them and saying, "Why doesn't anyone send us anything from here?" Well, Olivia and I stopped at the mall where they had a stand selling all those yummy treats and picked up a nice size box for him to put under the tree! He'll be happy! Enjoy your day!

Hello Sue. You know, I always put off stopping by your blog because I want to do it when I'm going to have time to savor your words and photos... but then time slips away and I never seem to make it. I love-love-love your blog and it always warms my heart so whenever I stop by. You have a beautiful heart and family... I am going to catch up on what I've missed later but I will be back! (Love the pillow) What a special friend to send such a nice gift!

Your gifts are so lovely. Those beautiful pears were grown a few miles from us. Harry & David Orchards are here in our valley and they are packed and shipped from here. I took Mary through a tour of their plant in October when they were in full swing for Christmas. She loved it. I am so glad your little lamb, Noel, is doing good. She is so cute. Have a blessed Christmas dear friend!

Hi Sue,

I just finished commenting on the "All roads lead home, especially at Christmas," post; it was awesome, and I love your title.

I LOVE the gifts that Janette and her son Benjamin sent you, that was so very thoughtful of them as I can see a lot of thought and heart went into the gifts that they gave you. Jesus Calling is one of my most favorite daily devotional books.

Noel, is beyond precious. I think Susan may take Noel home with her ;o) . Oh, how I would love to hold this precious little lamb. What awesome photos.

Thank you for your sweet note regarding the e-card, you are so welcome, and thank you for your kind and thoughtful words regarding my blog.

God bless you my friend and your beautiful family and all those wonderful farm animals.
Wishing you a Christmas that is overflowing with blessings, and great joy as you celebrate Jesus Birthday. ~ love and hugs, Michele

Oh Sue...I am late getting here having taken off for Christmas...you are just too precious to mention us. Benjamin has shown everyone his stocking and we have enjoyed it so much. We also loved the book.

I am hoping that stocking greets a grand baby one Christmas...you see you will be with us each year.

Oh the lambs..showing them to Benjamin again. I brought my husband to your blog this morning to read...he was as blessed as Benjamin and I have been. Who knows we might be a package at the end of that gate one day coming to give you a real hug.

Blessings to you and yours...I am praying you see the Hand of God through out the year of 2012 in a new and mighty way.

Hugs and love you lady.
