My word for this year, actually I have two words, are....
jour·ney[jur-nee] Show IPA noun, plural -neys,verb, -neyed, -ney·ing.
During the early morning hours on January 1st, 2012, as is the case when I am not able to sleep, I usually will get up and read, I picked up my new devotional book, Jesus Calling, written by Sarah Young, and given to me by my dear friends, Janette, and her son, Benjamin. "Thank you so much, dear friends, in blessing me with this gift, for in so doing, I am now embarking on a wonderful journey, and my life is enriched beyond words!"
The first line of my new devotional book, on my first day, was beckoning me to come to Him, (Jesus), on a new journey having a teachable spirit and an open mind, eager to be changed. I was not to take with me old ways as I stepped into this new year, but to seek His face, and in so doing I would have a renewed mind. I was assured that His eyes were always on me, that I would have His full attention and everlasting love. That special plans were made for me.
Jeremiah 29:11~ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope
All I had to do was to give myself fully to His presence.
I am looking forward to this new journey with Him, as with any journey I know there will be smooth roads, rough road, hills, valleys and yes those wonderful mountain tops to travel on, but in the end, I will reach my destination and will look back in wonder and amazement at how I made it, knowing that it was only because I had with me the best map maker there is....
My second word for this year is..
I savored every moment of this quiet time with the Lord, just basking in His presence as these words penetrated my very soul!
I am also looking forward to savoring all of the special moments this year while taking this journey, moments such as .....
Special time spent with Mr. P.
In the garden with some of His creatures, and creations.
As I pass by a vignette, I am reminded of Who I am in Him, and of what I
passing by a window, pausing, if only for a moment to find dear sweet Lucy sitting in the swing enjoying some sun rays, she is also savoring her moments. ~smiling~
