Pear tree lane farmhouse

~Finally out and about~

Written by Sue, Tuesday, March 13,2012          a beautiful, sunny day, temp. 80 degree, unbelievable!, so thankful!
Hello Dear Ones,
I  pray all is well with you and yours, I guess by now it is obvious that I have been  on a break, one that I did not chose. I am so much better, and getting stronger each day. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, cards, emails, and thoughtful gifts, but most of all for your prayers.

I am blessed beyond words to have you in my life. But am even more blessed to have such a wonderful husband that takes such great care of me,. He has the heart and hands of Jesus, so compassionate and caring.I remember waking up one night when I was so sick, and feeling his hand gently on my head and hearing him softly praying for me. I never let him know that I had  heard him as I knew that he and the Lord were having a quiet time together, but needless to say, there were tears of joy from my eyes.

So many verses in the Bible speak of God's strength for us, one of my favorites that I have committed to memory  is Habakkuk 3:19~ The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Each day as I am getting  stronger, I know that I will once again be jumping as the deer in these photos that I took today from inside our front door.

With my strength returning I look around and see so  much work that needs doing, (for me that's a good sign that I am better, lol) our dear little farmhouse, and garden  have been calling  my name asking me when or if I will be able to attend to their needs, ~smile~

Another motivation to get busy cleaning is, some of the older grandchildren have called and want to visit in April, while on spring break! Now that is a shot of energy for this grandma! ~big grin~

Today was a busy one, as I had an appointment for a hair cut,one that I had canceled twice during my illness, this is what it looked like before leaving today, looking real shaggy, huh?

Why the photo, well I had been telling my hairdresser that I needed a before and after photo, because she does such a great job with my hair, so my plans were to take one before I left, which I did,  come home and take the after photo, well, guess who forgot to take the after photo when she got home? She did a beautiful job! I need all the help I can get! lol

It seems I got side tracked by going to visit a friend who had recently moved back, (after being gone for 20 years,) to our neck of the woods. She had called weeks ago, but because of my illness we just couldn't get together.

My plans when I left the salon was to go straight home, but for some reason I was inspired to make a turn toward her son's home, whom she is living with while her home is being built! I do not make it a habit of just dropping in on people, as I do not like this to happen to me, but God's plans and ways are not ours.

We had a wonderful visit, and made plans to visit a nursing home soon. You see, lately my heart's desire has been to start visiting nursing homes again, but just could not seem to get it going because of being sick. I found out that she had been visiting several since returning, this is something she and I used to do together, one that I have so missed! We picked up right where we had  left off, just like it was only yesterday that we were together.Talk about our steps being ordered by God, and His perfect timing for our lives! ......

So not a whole lot going on around here as I have been out of commission for about six weeks, dh has continued to work on the green house, all the while looking after me, and what a wonderful job he is doing, I really feel bad that I have not been able to help him, I did however, slip out and take some photos, and will update in a later post.
Pear Tree Lane is in full bloom, I  took these this afternoon as I was coming home.
I love to walk under these trees and inhale the fragrance from these flowers! Just savoring another moment! These trees will soon shed these beautiful flowers for beautiful green leaves that will turn orange, burgundy, yellow and golden come fall!
Do you remember, Noel the lamb that we raised on a bottle, well, here she is all weaned and doing well, when I pass by the fence she runs and lets me rub her back. The other sheep just stare at us, not quite figuring out what is going on.

I think of you so often, and hope to be back posting regularly and visiting soon,. Please understand why I have not been out in blogland, as there are times when one is so ill, that they just don't feel like talking. I have only recently started taking phone calls.

Until next time,

Dear Sue, I am so glad that I stayed up late (again!)...and was here when your post popped up! I have missed you so much, and am much relieved to know that you are beginning to feel like yourself again. You must be feeling like Sue if you are getting ready to work on household chores and gardens and getting ready for visiting grandchildren and visiting your blog friends. That is the Sue I know! But please, please do not overdo it! You have been sick for a long give yourself a long time to recover. Do it for your friends!

How sweet that your dear hubby has taken such good care of you...a picture of how the Lord cares for His bride, the Church.

Thanks for checking in and letting us know that you're improving. (And thanks for showing us that sweet picture of Noel!)

Take care...

Hi Sue,
It is so nice to see a post from you and hear that you are feeling better.
That was a very sweet moment you shared with Mr. P placing his hand on your head and praying for you.
I'll bet it felt good to get your hair cut after being sick for so long. I think you look beautiful in the before picture.
Take care of yourself and don't feel any pressure to visit blogs until you are up to it.

Loved the photos from your farmhouse. It is looking especially pretty with the pear trees in bloom.

I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better. I keep checking in to see.
It brought tears to my eyes when I read about your DH praying over you while you slept. That my friend is precious! It's not really spring here yet but the snow is melting very fast infact it is nearly gone. I was able to walk out to the garden yesterday and to my supprise my garlic that I planted last fall is nearly 3 inches tall!!! This is the first time I have planted garlic so I am excited to see how it does and learn how to store it. I still have several winter projects to complete before it is time to go out side, I have some bookshelves to refinish and I need to go all through out the house and paint the floor moldings. We have been doing some of our spring cleaning and there is not too much of that left to do. It is time to take my flower pot inserts to the nursery where they will plant and grow them in a greenhouse so that by Mothers Day they will be big and beautiful to set inside my big pots on the front pourch steps....we can't plant before then or everything will freeze. Can you tell I'm ready?
Blessings to you and I hope you get all the things done that being sick has kept you from.

Hi Sue,

Wow, I've been missing you, praying for you and I was elated to know your regaining your health. I'm so sorry that you've been sick. I was worried about you. I couldn't imagine blog land without you. The photographs are perfection, absolutely beautiful. You need to have your own "Home & Garden Magazine," seriously.

I loved seeing Noel, she looks so tiny compared to the rest of the sheep, so adorable. I'm happy she is doing well.

Your before (haircut) picture is actually really pretty. I don't even look that good on my best day. Sooooo happy your in recovery, but want you to take it slow. Love and hugs ~ Michele

Well I think you look beautiful for someone who has been sick. I know how long I was sick when I got that bug. I didn't think I would ever get well. I am so glad everything looks so nice and pretty there at your farm. I can't believe how big the sheep have grown. I was praying for you this morning and I was praying that you were just busy in your green house.
I am glad for the update. I have been babysitting since Megan had the baby so I didn't get to sit down and write you a long email.
I love watching the kids but boy do that have more energy than me. :)
Don't over do it.
Blessing to you, I have missed you,

So sweet that your husband is building a greenhouse. I adored the pictures of your land.

Get well and feel better soon.

So glad to see that you are feeling better. Many prayers were sent on your behalf (you know that) and you were missed! The pictures of your beautiful farm coming to life and your presence back here is a very pleasant beginning to my morning. Hug that sweet man extra hard for all of us who were blessed by his testimony of love and faith over you...

Blessings, Debbie

Well, the length of this post, and the pictures around Pear Tree Lane Farm make me feel (hope?) that you are feeling very much on the mend. I pray that's the case. What a wonderful man you married! I loved that story about hearing him pray for you.

I think it's wonderful and clearly Providence that your friend returned at this specific time. I know that your plans to visit the nursing home(s) will be blessed.

And then, on top if it, you anticipate a visit from the grandchildren. That has to be the best medicine of all.

Be careful. Be rested. Be well!
