I am forever coming to their rescue. lol Do you think they appreciate it? No, or else they would behave!
DH and I had a consultation as what to do with the situation of Sue's chickens messing his gardens about. I had been letting them out early and it seems they were getting into some mischief.
Today dh sanded the poles and I painted them. One happy camper he is to have me back painting, this is one job that he absolutely does not like to do. It is one that I enjoy. I had so much fun basking in the sun and swishing that brush. He kept asking me how I felt, and finally ran me in the house when he saw my face was getting red, hey! it was hot here today!, between running me and the chickens I think he's got his hands full, don't you? I am a big handful too!!LOL
And would you believe, ten minutes after letting them out four of them went right back to the garden, I sneaked out of the house to run them out before Mr P. saw them as I knew he would put them on total lock down.I am forever the peace maker around here!~grin~ When they saw me coming with my camera they took off running as fast as their short little legs would carry them.Do you see the newly painted poles? I painted all of them, and the caps today, and hope to put a second coat on tomorrow.
What a wonderful week it has been, a renewed friendship, with Jane, spending time outside soaking in the sunshine, she and I were able to do some visiting, Wednesday and Thursday morning at the VA nursing home and a couple of nearby nursing facilities. Visiting these sweet precious ladies and gentlemen was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in a while. We were so warmly welcomed and got lots of hugs and kisses from them. The best medicine in all of the world!!
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your sweet kind thoughts and especially your prayers for me. There are not enough words to tell you how much you mean to me.
Enjoy your weekend!
Love always,
Sue

Hi Sue - it's great to see you up and about again!!
Your farm looks very lovely in Spring with all those beautiful blossoms!
I laughed reading about the chooks..I can see the problem from both sides too.
Our chickens created so much mess in the garden!
After finding just one dead rat in our yard, my hubby decided the chooks had to go - much to my dismay.
Oh well..it was fun pretending to be a "chicken farmer" while it lasted!
lots of love and blesings..Trish
Hi Sue,
Happy to hear you've got your energy back. I know painting is not an easy task, it's a bit of a work-out. You did a wonderful paint job.
I loved hearing about the chickens, they are too cute and how entertaining :o)
God bless you friend ~ sending a hug your way.
p.s. my blog has come to an end, it's time for me to move on to other things..., but I will still be visiting and commenting on friends blogs. ~ michele :o)
Hi Sue!
I'm so sorry that you have been sick, but glad to hear that you are up and around again - stay well sweet friend!
What a funny post - I'm having second thoughts about getting chickens now... ;0)
Hugs,

So happy to see you are feeling well. Great post, your place is beautiful.
Good morning Sue! How I enjoyed this story, haha. Looks like you did a great job on the posts, and shows you are obviously feeling really good. YAY!! I am glad to hear that hubby will force you to take it slow though. Enjoy your week-end! HUGS
so funny!!! I can so relate too, last fall my DH had a large new chicken house built for all our chickens. We were having such a problem with all the mess they were making all over the concrete isle of my horse barn. :o( between that and the goat droppings....we now have the chickens locked up and the goats have their own yard....now that the snow is about all gone it is time to start letting the hens out to roam durring the day but now I have to figure out a way to keep them out of the horse barn. I love it!!! I really do, I love my horses, my goats and the chickens too. I haven't had a problem with them getting into the garden yet but they have tore up one of my flower beds and they LOVE to get the grubs out of the manure pile! Blessing to you this weekend. We all get to go and listen to The African Children choir on Sunday :o)
Wow your garden looks wonderful. Your chickens crack me up. Is that the rooster that is always trying to get you?
Your fence posts look great. I haven't done anything in my garden yet.
It is so nice checking in and seeing what you have been doing.
Your beds look so good.
I'm so sorry you have been under the weather, but very glad to hear you're feeling well again! I've enjoyed reading about your chickens, I still hold out hopes of having a few someday on our little bit of land. I know they are a lot of work! Your raised beds look nice.
Enjoy the wonderful spring weather and have a lovely weekend!
Hi Sue, So glad you are up and about-you've been missed. I'm wondering if it is the same problems you've had in the past? I love seeing your garden and chickens. I pray that you will continue to grow stronger and your health will be restored. Have a glorious weekend.
Hugs, love and prayers.

Oh what a joy to see this post and know you are doing better...we have been praying for you. My garlic, from you, has started coming up, I am so excited.
Too funny on the chickens...have a wonderful weekend
So good to enjoy a little "visit" with you, Sue! Your words are always encouraging and life-giving, although I think I've said that before. Actually, I know I've said it before, because it is true!
I can sense the "bounce" coming back to you, as you share your words and paint all those posts (wow!) and visit the nursing home and renew an old friendship. Praise the Lord! :D
Dear Sue, I am so glad you are feeling better. Your chickens are so cute and your garden is lovely!! So clean and neat :) Both you and your husband are so amazing at keeping such a lovely farm.
One of my favorite verses, although lately I find myself saying that about a lot of verses I see posted! Just wanted to let you know I'm catching up on your blog and am happy you're feeling better. Your husband does sound like a winner! I hope today is a nice one for the two of you and your strength is returning!
