~Playing the blame game~

Written by Sue, Tuesday, April 17, 2011                    high 80's, absolutely beautiful
I Just got back from a walk, notice I said a instead of my usual walk. This is the first day I have walked or exercised in three months. Remember last year I lost 40+ lbs. by exercising and no sugar, low carb.plus working here at the farm, and dealing with sickness. Whew that was a tough year!!

My doctor was so amazed he thought something serious was wrong with me, and I was sent to some specialists. All test came back well, and now most of the weight has found its way home and decided to stay~grin!~All because I went back and picked up some old habits.

I don't weigh myself, just let my mirror and clothes be my guide~ lol~ Like most women, we can get in denial mode rather quickly. I noticed my clothes were getting snug, but just shrugged it off, and kept telling myself, that I would get back started tomorrow. Tomorrow didn't come until today, as I would change  "tomorrow" to "Today". I have no desire to be pencil thin, Just be healthy! Once I make up my mind I am steadfast. Just as many years ago, I gave my heart and life to "Jesus", the best decision I have ever made, and one that has and keeps giving me dividends and blessings every day.

Yesterday I had a conversation with Mr. P and it went like this.....

Me... "why did you let me gain this weight back?"

He.... "welll uhh uhh! I love you and didn't want to hurt your feelings."

Me.. "say what!"

He... "but you haven't gained it all back, besides I would love you no matter how much you weighed."

Me... "sighing!"

He... "I just want you to be healthy, because I want us to grow old together."

Me.... kiss, kiss, smooch smooch. I didn't blame anyone but myself for my lack of self discipline, I was just funning with him.

Isn't it amazing how in life situations we like to play the blame game??!!!!

Genesis 3:12~ Then the man said. The woman whom YOU gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree and I ate."

Now you might ask what this has to do with these strawberries?  Not a thing, just wanted to show you what I am doing today.

Berries picked.....

 Washed.......
Dried.......
so while they are macerating in sugar for about 4 hrs. I will be
Painting. Yesterday Dh decided since the last painting project turned out so well, we would start a new one, it is our herb garden. It won't take as long as it doesn't have but 10 sections compaed to 16. Yea!!
Enjoy your day, and remember to "savor" each moment!!

I will be posting tonight as I am joining Vee, for her "Note Party" tomorrow. Won't you please come and join in the fun!
Until next time,
Hugs,
Sue

Those strawberries have nothing to do with it? Not even the ones macerating in sugar? =D They have plenty to do with it around here as strawberry shortcake with homemade biscuits is John's favorite dessert. I just made some for Easter. Lord, have mercy on those of us for whom a taste is not quite enough. Happy painting! Catch you later... Yay!

I sympathize and empahize with you on the weigh gain. Healthly is what I want, too!

Did you grow those huge strawberries? I can taste them just by looking at them, mmmmmm.

So glad you wrote this today. My scale broke but I didn't know that until I got on to weigh. I weighed 78 pounds. I laughed and laughed.
I might leave it that way since you are talking about denial. Your strawberries are beautiful. You know what, I like you no matter how you are, remember it is the gentle and quiet spirit that is precious in the sight of God.
He doesn't look at the outward like man but looks at our hearts and yours is loving and kind and beautiful.
Have a lovely day.

I can relate to the weight thing too, but have you ever noticed how sickly some of those really skinny folks (models) look? Your strawberries are beautiful, can almost taste them:) Have a wonderful day!

I can sympathize with you regarding the weight! It's such a struggle. BUT as long as you're healthy, as your hubby says, that's what really matters. The strawberries look so delicious! Enjoy your day!

Ooooh those strawberries look yummy, drool! I love fruit! God is so good to give us such delicious treats from His Creation, and I think they are pretty, too!

Don't be hard on yourself about the weight, Sue, you are just beautiful, and you can always take it off, whenever you get good and ready........
Hugs,
Jenni

I can totally relate to your struggle. I've gained and lost weight so many times starting at 13 years of age. I'm tired! But soon, I have to do it again as my oldest son will be marrying soon and I don't want to ruin the wedding photos! :-)

I am so glad your tests came back so well! God is good. I love your berries, so pretty and they look so yummy!

Sharing thoughts from my heart with you,

Thank you so much for coming by, please come and visit anytime.

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
