How do I commune with God?......

Written by Sue, Sunday, June 24,2012                         A beautiful, hot, sunny day, temps,  90's

Websters says to Commune is to be in Harmony withI liked Harmony so much I looked it up and this is what Webster says... Agreement, A pleasing combination, Wow!!! I really liked this.... God and I a pleasing combination.

Most mornings you will find me very early sitting on our porch either in my rocker or swing . After family devotion, I like to spend some alone time with the Lord. So...

Using the five senses that God created within me to commune with Him, I...

See His written word, the beautiful sunrise coming over the trees, animals grazing in the pasture, sometimes looking up at the most beautiful blue sky and marveling at its beauty and seeing the birds grace that beauty, beautiful flowers and then I.....

Hear those same birds perched in a tree singing the most beautiful songs. Have you ever noticed that birds sing no matter what their circumstances, and then I hear the roosters crowing (always competing with each other.) Sometimes I hear silence!!!!.... then Uncle Joe(our donkey) will bray, and in the far distance I will hear the dove calling its mate. Oh!! what a beautiful sound. When the grandchildren(no matter their age) are here and they are in bed, I always enjoy and savor their voices trailing off as they are falling asleep. And sometimes I...

Feel a soft breeze on my cheek as it blows by; a petal on a flower, have you ever stopped and really felt the softness and velvetness of a flower especially a rose petal? And that is when I reach down and.....

Smell that same flower or herb plant,( just love the smell of lavender and basil.) And sometimes I will place my cup of coffee close to my nose and smell the aroma of it as the steam comes up. and the smell of rain ahh!!,... and that is when I ....

Talk to the Lord, giving thanks for all of His blessings, and His creation, for in it I see Him. I believe we who were created in His likeness and image were given these senses so that we could commune with Him. Psalms 150:6~ Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord!

Sometimes I just sit quietly, saying and doing nothing, being still if you will! Psalms 46:10~ "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exaletd in the earth."

You see.... God (our Creator) made everything, He created us in His on image and likeness and He communes with us.... He sees us, no matter where we are; He hears us, whether we are praising , thanking or asking Him; He touches our lives in so many ways; He smells us, especially when we send the aroma of praise up to Him; and He speaks to us through His written Word, the Bible....

My desire for myself and others is to always commune( be in harmony with, have a pleasing combination) with Our Creator.

"Lord", may we always commune with You. May we continue to find You in all of Your creation, and may we always worship You,the Creator, and not the creation. Amen!
Blessings,
Sue

Sharing thoughts from my heart with you,

Thank you so much for coming by, please come and visit anytime.

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
