~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

"Savoring" moments

Written by Sue, December 31, 2012                     partly sunny cool temps. 50's.. a beautiful day is in store..
The view from my kitchen window this morning.

On this last day of 2012, God took the time to paint me a beautiful picture, reminding me once again of His Majestic Glory, also to remember to "savor" moments of each day. Sometimes they come early in the day, other times throughout the day, sometimes they come at the end of the day. You see "savor" was my word for 2012,  I like taking a word, or phrase for the new year, many times "savor" caused me to pause, take a deep breath, and just "savor" the moment. ~smile~ With all of the new technology, and busy schedules, it is so easy to just be "to busy". I am sure there were moments that should have been savored, but because of my busyness I missed it, but for every moment that was savored, I am so thankful.

One thing I found out was that no matter what circumstances were going on in my life, these moments would come,(especially during the remodeling. ~smile~) and I knew "WHO" had sent them, because "HE" loves me, this I know for the Bible tells me so.  I am especially thankful for my beautiful sunrise this morning. God's timing is perfect!!
I am so looking forward to this new year, and of more savoring moments, and of my new word or phrase.

My prayer for you on this beautiful last day of 2012, is that your savoring moments are many, trust me they will come, because God loves you too, and He will send them your way.
"Wishing you a most blessed and Happy New year"
Much love,
Sue
James 1:17~ Every good gift, and every perfect is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shadow of turning.
p.s.
Here is another savoring moment for me,(taken this morning)this last day of 2012,  I am savoring it's last day, yes, there are a few unopened presents under the tree, Dh and I are saving them for tonight. Last evening dh heard a noise and he found that an ornament had fallen among other fallen ornaments. I would say that when this happens, it is about time to pack it away, wouldn't you. lol

Oh I woke up this morning and prayed for you, so what a joy to read this post. Yes savor...I am still learning and I am so glad you savored through the year...God knew what was coming when you picked that word.

Oh we have bookend posts today. Well I do think probably it's time to take down a fresh tree, but how I wish that everyone would save a faux tree just to fully enjoy and appreciate and SAVOR the full Twelve Days of Christmas. To each her own, of course. Some are eager to be on to the new and some, like me, wish to savor those lights and that quiet time in the mornings and evenings by the tree.

I'll be waiting to see what's next over here and, of course, there's a big reveal coming at some point I hope. You certainly have worked hard to get to that place.

Enjoy your quiet evening. We're still discussing whether we'll join our church family for the New Year's Eve service or just crash at home.

Littlest grand was having nothing more than breakfast today. No amount of enticing motivated him to want to spend more time at Nonni's.

Good morning Sue...what a beautiful view out your window! So glad you shared it with us. Yes, how I have tried to "savor" the moments, as there are many of them. Sometimes they come surrounded by many moments of difficult life, which make them all the more special. God loves me! Still amazes me every time. Who am I that He would take the time to bless me like that in such a personal way? Don't know, but He does!

Happy new year to you and your family Sue! May the Lord bless you and keep you in 2013!

Yep, time to take down the tree over here too. : )

Thank you soo much for your prayers!

I'm so glad that you did a post this morning, and it blessed those who read it. You really did get some surprises added to your 2012 list this year didn't you! Handyman and I alway wonder when we plan a project what else will go wrong and we'll have to work that in too. Oh well, it keeps us active and out of trouble! :D
I hope 2013 is a year that will rock the church in America. It needs rockin' to wake us up and get us busy. I'm waiting to see what your word is for 1013.
Have a wonderful New Year beginning!
Debbie

Beautiful thoughts for the last day of 2012! When you said the Bible tells me so, it made me think of the song I learned in primary Sunday school, The B-I-B-L-E. Do you remember that song? Anyway, thank you for giving me inspiration to start 2013 in a positive way. Happy New Year to you, Sue!

Smiles,
Carol

Our tree is all away and packed up for next year. It's Olivia's birthday in a few days and I never like to have it up for her celebration and it takes awhile to get the house put back. I still keep our lighted house collection up and a few other winter items. I hope you have a nice celebration!

Such lovely thoughts my sweet friend.

What a lovely post, Sue! Yes, "savor" is a beautiful word, and such an important concept in our lives. I need to practice it more...choosing the best over the good.

Like Vee, I am eager for a grand reveal, once you add the "love" back into your home (although I sincerely doubt that it really ever left!). But I know what you mean...you mean the personal homey touches that show personality and show care for the people who live in the home. I can't wait to see it!

He has been so good to us, hasn't He?

Happy New Year to you, Sue!

Morning Sue,
and Happy New year hon. Loved that morning sunset.........I too, am always just so amazed by the Lords
creativity, and think how awful and boring our world would be without it,
or if he had just decided to make it black and white. Now I think black and white can look pretty crisp and nice, but sure wouldn't want to live in a black and white world. lol

I am so pleased and happy to be back in touch with you once again.
For some reason I have lost my complete blogroll other than the ones that were on my actual blog.
Guess blogger as rearranged things
so much I can't figure out where it is now............sometimes wish they would just leave well enough alone. Know what I mean!! lol
Oh well, guess that will never happen....lol

You have a great day hon,
and May your New Year be blessed in abundance, and may He continue to use our blogs to honor himself.
Love and Blessings, Nellie

I love the word savor. After the more hectic years of raising the girls, I am finally beginning (just beginning) to learn the grace. I love that your husband left some presents to open. I want to copy that for next year. What a GREAT way to savor the season!

I really hope that 2013 is a year for BOTH of us to get back to more of a blog normal. I have missed writing mine, and I have missed reading yours!

I love how you see so many wonderful things and share them with us.
I too, think it special that presents are left to ponder and savor.

What a beautiful post this is, Sue. As I get older I am trying to savor each and every moment as it comes. That is a very good choice of words for the year.
Your photo of the sky is breathtaking.
Wishing you many blessings and much happiness in the new year.

Hello Dear Sue! We just finished putting away the last of our Christmas decorations today. Thought I would be able to give the floors a good cleaning but just didn't get to it.

The view from your window is indeed, a beautiful picture! Thank you for sharing it :)

Sue,
Savoring is a wonderful blessing. It goes hand in hand with gratitude and joy.
Your home looks glorious! What a blessing to be done, and to have fixed issues before they worsened!
I shall be thinking of you making it back into home.
Your tree is so beautiful. I'm just sitting here looking at it!
Oh....I have the exact same farm sink that you do. I love it, and although I am very careful, I have about 9 chips in 2 years! So I would get a mat or liner for it asap. Shaw makes them, too. I haven't gotten one yet, but I must.

Oh, Sue~ I didn't know you had posted anything! I'm so far behind on blogging I've been trying to get caught up with everyone... and what a pleasant surprise to see you've put something on here! :)
I loved your beautiful words... and the scripture in James is one of my favorites. Well, the whole book of James is, really. And the word "savor" has such a special meaning, doesn't it?
I pray you and your family are blessed beyond measure in 2013!
