Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

"Savoring Autumn"

Written by Sue,Wednesday, October 16, 2013          Cloudy, mild, 70's perfect fall day

Autumn is my favorite season, here are a few photos that beckon me to stop and "savor" this most beautiful season......

Sitting by a camp fire at dusk, warming my feet while toasting  marshmallows on a twig, getting ready to make a s'mores!

 Enjoying a meal by candlelight
This reminds me of Miss Emily Baldwin,(Walton's series) reminiscing of her first kiss, under a tree as the autumn leaves showered her and her beloved Ashley Longworth!
Gathering pumpkins to  decorate the entrance to the farm, one of dh's favorite things to do in the fall!

Hope you are enjoying autumn, it truly is a beautiful time of year, as I look at the different colors especially on the leaves, I think of how God uses His paintbrush to add special touches to each one,  for us to stop and "savor",  each moment of our day.
Blessings,
Sue

Joining the "notecard party" at Vee's today,As usual for me, I am late, Thank you Vee for hosting one of my favorite parties!

Beautiful pictures of your farm... during my favorite season, no less!

I remember Miss Emily's reminiscing. "The Homecoming" is one of our favorite Christmas movies!

How can you be late? This is THE day!

It feels so much like autumn to me right here. I think it's the addition of the fire and woodsmoke. Hmmmm...delicious. What kind of pumpkins are those? They are so adorably round and plump.

Beautiful autumn images. There's something about a fire that just draws us in. Love the dinner by candlelight. It's such a great thing to do at this time of year.

Hi Sue, I too love Fall-the crisp cold air, bright colors on the trees, staying inside more. I love visiting here and seeing your place.
Harvest blessings to you and yours.

Sue, they are gorgeous, and I loved the harken back to Miss Emily and Ashley Longworth. I loved that show. (Still do!)

It also prompts me to go outside and get a pear tree update. It has been so hot here that they weren't turning yet. I have also been so grumpy (I admit) that I haven't bothered to notice any changes in the past week. Going outside for leaf inspection.

I'm back. Still no change.
Sigh.

Beautiful fall note cards, Sue. I love the smell of woodsmoke. No matter what time of year I smell it I always think of fall.
I think it's great that your DH enjoys decorating the entrance of your farm for the season. I know that any one who passes it also enjoys it.
I wanted to thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment on my recent post. Gosh, it brought me to tears. I am having second thoughts about being able to leave my blog. It's much harder than I ever imagined. Thank you for sharing that you have had similar thoughts too. I agree it IS too hard to leave the good friends I've met through blogging (like you). I think from now on when I have these notions I'll just take a blog break.
Hugs to you,
Kim

Love the autumn trees! I missed the note party this time, just takes too long to put it together and don't have much time to blog lately. Enjoying the outdoors while the weather is still nice.

I think that cookie picture in your earlier post would make for an excellent note card!

We are lucky to live where the trees change colour in fall. A wonderful collection of note cards, the campfire would make a perfect one to send to a man.
