Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

"Happy Days Are Here Again"

Written by Sue, Monday, March 10, 2014        Sunny, very warm, temps. 79

I am not complaining nor comparing today, for the past two days we have had absolutely perfect weather, and I have been taking advantage of the warm sunshine. We ran a few errands today, as I was passing by the garden center at Lowe's I heard  these pitiful voices calling to me, "Pick me, pick me  lady". The herb section was in perfect unison as they pleaded to come home with me. I just couldn't resist.
This evening I took a walk in the herb garden to find places for my new found friends, and was totally taken aback to see that my parsley had survived our cold, icy, snowy winter. I also noticed that someone had been nibbling on the parsley, could it be
that Peter Rabbit was sleeping on the job or that he just might have let some of his friends slip in . hmmm.
Tomorrow we are promised 80 degrees and then the bottom will fall out but only for a short time, it's almost springtime don't cha know, but I will take any warm weather.

Due to all the inspiration I have been seeing here in blogland, I did do a little spring tweaking just a little. The burlap wrapped tree is a mystery to me as to where I got it. but I am glad it found it's way here.

These little garden ornaments are so cute, I found them while cleaning out the garage a few weeks back, the colors are so vivid, I find it so amazing the things you tuck away and forget about, at least I do.~smile~
The birds I got for a song at Kirkland's last year, I still haven't got this vignette  like I want it, but with the warm weather, it is going to have to do for now.

As spring approaches ever so close, may your days be filled with sunshine, your hearts overflow with love, joy, and peace in the beauty of God's wonderful creations. For He is the "Master Gardener" of our hearts and souls.

Love,
Sue

I love your vignette! We have been blessed with several warm, sunny days also! It has been lovely to be outdoors and hear the birds. Wishing you another wonderful day.

I like you little collectibles, and the herbs really called my name. I went for a long walk yesterday and opened up my windows in the kitchen as I cooked lunch. Lovely 60's. Today only 50's and 3-5 inches of snow predicted tonight. Hope it's the last we'll see this year and the next moisture is rain!

Your herbs are inspiring spring fever this morning! I am afraid that my huge rosemary plant did not make it through the winter. Although I keep looking for signs of life, I don't see any. I have had it for years and years...but I guess this brutal winter was too much for it. I will need to refurbish my herb garden this year. I am amazed that your parsley survived!

Love the little garden tools on your tree!

Enjoy your very warm spring day today!

Love you little tree, Sue, and I am glad you are having better weather. We are in the middle of oak pollen. Yikes!

That is a sweet little spring tree. Yay for hardy parsley! Oh you will surely enjoy the 80 degree day and it will probably be with the trade. I know this...I would happily trade you the foot of snow coming tomorrow for one of your cool days. = D

Well I do know how those plants do call out when I walk by and they do often come home, more often than not. :)
I love your tree and the ornaments. I am glad you have had a few days of warm weather.
We might hit 90 on Sunday. Not sure how I feel about that in March.
Have a wonderful week.

We've had a beautiful sunny day here today and almost 60 degrees.
All those herbs look beautiful.
I'm going to start an herb garden this year. I'm thinking to start out with peppermint, basil, dill, and rosemary. Do you think these are a good choice to start with? What do you recommend?

Thank you for all your kind comments. : )

Spring Fever, I hope I catch it, soon!

Parsley is hardy. My chives came back. It's almost like seeing a friend you haven't seen in awhile. You get excited and surprised when you see them.
Are you going to wait awhile before planting the herbs?

We were excited by 61 degrees here today!

Like you, we will get some cold weather Thursday and then it will continue to warm up!

Your herbs remind me that I want to go and purchase a few for my front garden!

I feel the spring, it’s already near Sue! I love how the small herb place in a group. Actually, I do not know about herb, but it’s seems that I appreciate it right now and learning how to read them. It’s wonderful that I have seen the little garden ornament! And for the Master Gardener, you are awesome!
