Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

Counting my Blessings, naming them one by one!

Written by Sue, Friday, September 1, 2017         WoW it was hot and humid with severe thunderstorms overhead as I write!

This week as I worked I had so many emotion,... I prayed, I searched, I cried, I questioned, I reminisced, I smiled, and even laughed!  One thing for sure I didn't nor have I forgotten the folk who live in the path of hurricane Harvey! For sure nothing happens that escapes God's eyes, ears, hands  and heart! He is still in control, satan cannot win no matter what he tries to do! A scripture verse that brings me so much comfort is:
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world!

This week was spent getting the house cleaned and ready for fall decorating.  I opened 4 boxes of decorations, plus a few added items. Last year I wasn't able to decorate for fall due to my health issues so you can imagine how excited I was to see them.

I know I have mentioned this before, is it okay if I repeat, I just looove fall, the colors of autumn are me, my closet, and home  will attest to that! I love reds, golds, browns, burgundy, and oranges.

For some reason I have become interested in old trucks, I saw this at Hobby Lobby, I smiled at him and he jumped right in my shopping cart!I couldn't say "no", so off we went!

I love the light on this simple little table.

After working on the decorating, I took a break midweek, called my Mom and invited her over for lunch, of course I wanted her to see what I had accomplished, just like when I was a little girl,~wink~ as usual she was delighted,  guess you might say I passed the test. ~smile~We also had a gift for her, Susan and I have been working on a few projects for giftgiving.

This is called a "Blessings Jar", I will wait until we have finished to show and explain it to you. You know it isn't to early to begin to think about Christmas gift giving especially if you make them. Now aren't you glad you stopped by today.~wink~

My mother is an excellent cook, but for some reason she enjoys my cooking. We were not quite finished setting the table, when she arrived, she wanted to help, but Susan told her she was our guest, sat her at the table and wouldn't let her do a thing. Do you think the smile says "I am special?"

On the menu was, green salad, deviled eggs, noodles, green bean, okra, and barbecued ribs, garlic toast, and of course southern iced tea.

I am so thankful that all of my inside decorations are up and smiling at me! I started early  this year for several reason, we have several outdoor projects going on that must be finished before winter sets in, but best off all... I just plain wanted to! Now I can enjoy, taking my time to finish them. This is just a sneak peek, of fall at the farmhouse, I am looking forward to sharing more.
Autumn Blessings from me to you,
Sue

Loving it all since Fall is one of my favorites. PTL that you are feeling well and able to do things this fall that you didn't do last! John 16:33 is a great verse to take comfort in. It's been a while since I visited Hobby Lobby but I always enjoy my visits there. Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day weekend that isn't filled with too much labor and of course hope it's filled with lots of good food!!

Hi Sue!

I'm always so glad to visit you, any time of year! Your blog always makes me happy, and you are counted among the many blessing I count each day...one of my favorite songs by the way... ;0)

Fall is such a beautiful time of year, and the colors are so gorgeous, as is your beautiful home! That old truck is adorable, Old things and autumn just seem to go together (maybe that's why I love, Fall!).

Your mom is so pretty, you take after her! How wonderful that she is able to get around and come to your home for lunch. Another blessing for you!

Can't wait to hear about the blessings jar, it truly is that time of year when we have to start thinking about Christmas gifts, and homemade are always best...right?!

Wonderful post, thanks for sharing, Sue! Have a very blessed week-end, and a safe and fun Labor day!

Hugs,
Barb

Sue, You are way ahead of me-though I have several small things out-mainly table runners. I love seeing your mom-she is so beautiful inside and out. Hope I can look that good as I age. What a wonderful lunch. I'm so afraid that if I put everything out already for Fall, that I'll be tired of it when Oct. rolls around; however we will be in New England for 9 days in October, so may not. WE just finished painting our downstairs bedrooms and closets. Today we went out and got two new sets of mattresses-ours were so old.
Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day and thanks for the inspiration.
Love,
Noreen

I love your fall decorations, Sue! It's my favourite time of year. The drop in temperatures gets me excited about the most beautiful time of the year. Your mother is a beauty. How lucky you are to have her for lunch. Your table is set so lovely and your menu delicious! ♥

That is a good verse and one of my favorites. (I say that about a lot of verses 😊)
How nice that you had such a lovely lunch with your mom.
I don't have a favorite season that I like best. We don't get real hot summers where I live so don't like to rush fall. : )

Wow, you have a lot of fall decor! I, too, love, love fall. I have put my fall pillows out on the front porch but haven't done anything else just yet. I'll probably wait until we get back from a trip we are taking next week. Always such fun to drop by and read your sweet posts and your Momma is just too cute!!!

I've been away for a little while from blogging, but I am back. I LOVE your Fall decs as always. I too love the Fall colors and have quite a few of them in my house all the time. I will dig out my Fall decs next week-end and get them up which puts me a little bit behind. I try to get that done by the first, but didn't pull it off this year. Your lunch looks sooo good as does your table and your pretty mom! She always looks soo good. How wonderful you can still enjoy these kind of times with her. I'd love to show my mom what I have done with the house, but I know just what she'd say nonetheless. Enjoy your week!
