Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

~Wednesday Hodgepodge~

Written by Sue, Wednesday, September, 20,2017                 Sunny, hot, 90's

As usual I am late for the party...

1. What's something you'd rate a 10/10? Tell us why.
This man here,
(We went grape picking this week)

we have been together for a very long time, he is my best friend, and husband! There is never a day that goes by that he doesn't tell me how much he loves me, several times to be exact! We finish one another sentences and sometimes we are even thinking the same thoughts at the same time. ~smile~

2.What job would you be terrible at?What makes you think so?
Truck driving, because I am not a very good driver, however, I am great at backseat driving!~wink~ besides it is hard for me to sit still for very long.

3. When did you last take a fall? What's something you're falling for (in a good way) these days?
I fell standing in a chair trying to hang a picture on the stairwell wall, I got a concussion for that and ten stitches in my temple, that was a few years ago. Not very smart, right!

Something I am falling for now. Hmmm this is easy....

I am falling for "Fall", it is my favorite time of year, the leaves falling from the trees,
old photo from the farm

the smell of leaves burning, and I am so looking forward to my first campfire of the season. I could go on and on. This season always puts me in baking mood, and it last until January!

4. According to the Travel Channel here are some of America's best fall festivals-
National Apple Harvest Festival(near Arendtsville Pa. close to Gettysburg) Harvest on the Harbor (Portland maine), German Village Festival (Columbus Ohio), Wellfleet Oyster Fest (Cape Cod), And Wine and Chile Fiesta (Santa Fe, NM)

Have you ever been to any of the festivals listed? Which one appeals to you most? Does your hometown have any sort of fall celebration, and if so will you make it a point to attend?
I have never been to any of the festivals listed, If I could, I would love to go National Apple Harvest in Pa. near Gettysburg, to visit Gettysburg Memorial, my Dh has always wanted to go. I have to say my personal choice would be the Harvest on the Harbor in Portland Maine, as it is near my dear blogging friend Vee, from A Haven for Vee, I have always wanted to meet her.
No. I am sorry to say my hometown doesn't have a fall festival.
5. What is you good by message to summer?

Dear Summer,
It was so nice to have you visit, but it is time for you to leave, you have overstayed your time, I am expecting Fall this week-end, and we are going to have a blast!!

6. Insert your own random thoughts here.
I am a thinker, and an analyzer about everything, so my thoughts are always everywhere, my answer to this question is this..
As I sit here in the quietness of the early morning pondering each question, and coming to this last one, "Thankfulness" comes to mind, I am so blessed, I received a great report this week from my neurosurgeon. My Faith in Christ is what sustains me through all situations on this journey called "Life"!

Thank you for visiting and for taking the time to read my Hodgepodge!
Blessings,
Sue

Just curious if you took any steps to protect yourself from the Equifax Data Breach? Does anyone use one of the credit monitoring services, and if so are you happy with it?

So sorry to have to say this No and No

Thank you Joyce for hosting Wednesday Hodgepodge! Once agin this was fun!

I would go to Maine, too. I have always wanted to go there. I was so excited about fall arriving but we're still going to have summer temps until October. Fingers crossed we do cool off by then. It seems fall and winter have skipped us the last 2 years and I have missed them terribly!

Dear Sue, a good husband is such a 10/10 blessing for sure. I cleaned my oven yesterday in anticipation of all that good baking that happens in Autumn! I'm with you on your random thought for sure. Hope you get some good fall weather this weekend!

haha - So funny we did both pick truck driving. what are those odds?

Leaves burning is probably my all time favorite smell in the world. Something about it is just magical to me.

Awe, such sweet sentiments about your Hubby! Ouch, your fall was really bad, enough to make you very careful in the future I'm sure!!! Even being careful it can happen. So scary! Bless you and always a joy to stop by!

My hubby's a 10, as well. We are blessed women.
I wish the leaves here turned and looked like your photo, but they don't.
Praise the Lord for your good report from your doctor, and thanks for stopping by, today!

Your blog is lovely! I enjoyed your answers and your photos.

I'm thankful, with you, for the good report from your neurosurgeon because that means your blogging fans can expect to read more of what you have to share!

Praise the Lord for His goodness to us all.

I really enjoyed your post.. we have a lot in common. I, too, should have listed Hubs as my answer for # 1, but alas, I had just received my new bake pan was just so excited by it, but I wouldn't have it if it hadn't been for my dear husband.

Hi Sue~

What a fun, Hodge Podge of questions.

I know what you mean about your husband -- me and my husband truly read each other's mind, it's crazy!

I love fall, but I hate falling! I fell down the stairs a few years ago and broke my leg, it was horrible! I can't imagine having to have stitches, so glad all is well with you...blessings sweet friend.

All those beautiful cookies make my mouth water, yum! Fall always puts me in the mood to bake, they just go hand in hand.

I would love to visit, Vee. I told her to watch for me in 7 years when they will experience a total eclipse!

Loved your post!

Hugs,
Barb

I am thankful with you for the good report from your doctor!!

So nice to hear that your hubby is a 10! (Mine is too!)

I am loving the sounds of your weekend. Hope it is truly fall-ish!

That fall sounds awful Sue, and probably why I would never even think of doing what you did as I know I would be a falls risk. I'd be a dreadful truck driver too, but that's because I've never managed to get my driving licence.
Have a great day.

Sweet answer for #1. Truck driving would be so boring. I like to drive but not for hours and hours each day. Oh my, that was quite a fall you had! Yes the Fall puts me in the baking mood too.

Hi Sue, I'm back from my blog break. At least I'm trying to get back, it's hard when life is so busy but I miss my blog friends.

I like your answer to No. 1. My hubby and I can finish each other's sentences too and he will often say what I'm thinking at the same moment.

Fall is my favorite time of year, too, and I am also so ready for summer to leave. It's been in the 90's here the past few days.

Be careful of standing of those chairs! That sounds like a bad fall.

Happy Fall to you!
