Written by Sue, October, 11, 2017 Very humid, temps. 80's.still looking for Autumn temps.
Last week we had some perfect fall days, Mr P decided it was time to trim most of the summer plants and perennials, and put them to bed for the winter!
BEFORE!
AFTER!
Makes a big difference, doesn't it!
By this time each year, the flower beds have become somewhat overgrown,
He trimmed, I loaded, and put the straw out!
AFTER!
I also planted pansies, one of my favorite flowers, they will bloom from now till June of 2018! I love their fragrance, not to mention those sweet faces.
There is always something to do around the farm!
Thank you for visiting,
Blessings,
Sue

Your garden is so very organized. And those pansies, oh the first time i saw them in Sweden i was smitten as i only see them in photos before. I even had cross-stitches of them in hand towels before seeing them in person. However, i didn't know they have scent! Next time i see them again i will definitely get closer, thanks for that info.
Lovely !
I need to get my pansies out soon.
Good morning Sue! How I love pansies too. Don't have any right now. Might have to fix that. Just curious...why the straw? Fruit cocktail looks delicious. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Hi Sue, Everything looks so tidy. Spreading the pine straw is hard work - all the bending, and it makes me itch, too! Your fruit cocktail looks delicious. Oh, you are so smart! You commented on my blog about collecting your marigold seeds....all during our summer, my husband had been pinching off the old blooms and scattering the seeds around the plants. Just in the last couple of weeks, the seedlings have grown and are blooming! The colors are so perfect for fall. Wishing you a blessed evening.
Such a lovely garden and I love how you take advantage of your bounty. That fruit cocktail is beautiful. You are a hard working couple! Pansies always make me smile. Hope the rest of your week is a good one!
Hi Sue!
Your garden is so lovely! I'm so glad you planted pansies, they truly are the cutest flowers ever. I'll bet that homemade fruit cocktail is so much better than store-bought, it looks wonderful.
Hugs,
Barb
Oh, your gardens are just beautiful. We'll plant our pansies when we get back from Oklahoma. We love pansies and they are so colorful and showy. Always a joy to stop by!
Honestly, Sue, you and Mr. P have some of the prettiest gardens I have ever seen!! Beautiful!!
Your fruit cocktail looks mighty tempting sitting there on the counter. No wonder you couldn't wait! :)
Your gardens look absolutely fantastic!!!
It is hard work clearing out the summer growth, but I always feel better after the garden is ready for winter ... it all looks terrific! Enjoy that fruit cocktail!
Oh your gardens just look so nice. They take a lot of work, I know. Looks as if you will have herbs right along as well.
