~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

"Happy New Year"

Written by Sue, Sunday nightDecember 31, 2017     Brrr!temps. in the teens.
Wishing you much peace, joy, happiness, and health, in this coming new year. May all your plans, hopes and dreams come true.
Our New Year's Eve celebrations are usually pretty low key, we have an early dinner, sit by the fire, this is one of our favorite things, we reminisce over the past year, each tells of their goals, hopes, and dreams of the new year. We don't make resolutions, but set goals, I love to set goals! Goals don't seem to pressure me like resolutions do. ~smile~ If we can stay awake, (wink )we bring in the new year with prayer, if we go to bed early, prayers are still the last thing for us. I love to bring in the new year praying.

I  enjoy the week between Christmas and New Years, it is like we get to stop, and just breath, everything slows down, except the ewes are now lambing, we have 22 new babies.  I do a lot of thinking during this week, get my new planner and notebooks together and by New Year's Eve, I have them organized and ready to go for January1st.

So how is your New Year's Eve?
r
Blessings from our home to yours

Sue

Happy New Year! I’m sure that praying a New Year in is lovely, though I always enjoyed kissing the New Year in. Just a little tidbit tossed in for free. ☺️ I surprised myself and stayed awake to see the New Year in this year. I spent it with Right Side Broadcasting.

(The new lambs explain where you’ve been! )

Dear Sue, So wonderful to hear that you and your hubby end the night in prayer-what a blessing! We went out for an early dinner and then hunkered down under quilts to watch t.v. WE never stay up till midnight and this weekend has been cold and snowy so we are staying inside.
Blessings to you for this New Year!
Hugs,
Noreen

Hi Sue,
Your new years eve sounds like ours....I love that time between Christmas
and New Years too....for the same reason. It has been a very restful
vacation for hubby well, for both of us really. He starts back to work tomorrow, but will get to work home since these are already the days he works here.
Hope 2018 will be a really lovely and blessed year for you and your hubby
and family.
Love and Blessings,
Nellie

Happy New Year.
Our New Year's Eve was quiet.
Since it was a Sunday we went to church as usual and then home.

Happy New Year, Sue! We brought in the New Year quietly, too. We've been away from home and I've not had time to quietly think about my goals and write in my day book. I hope to do that over the next couple of days before going back to teaching on Monday. Have a wonderful and blessed 2018.

Happy New Year to you and your family, Sue! We saw the New Year in at my daughter's house. I even had a sip of champagne to toast the New Year. :) It was a fun evening playing games, visiting, eating good food and listening to some nice music while watching the fire in the fireplace.
I'd love to see those sweet baby lambs. Hope you snapped a few pics for us to see. :)
Wishing you a wonderful 2018 filled with many blessings.
xx Cheryl

I'm a bit late, but I love reading abut your New Year traditions. I so, so believe in thinking of setting goals, and making a clean start to change for the better as the new year rolls in. You have a great time with your kids. And before a lovely fire to boot!
