~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

~Traditions~

Written by Sue, Friday, December 15, 2017            Brrr! still cold sunny, temps. 40's

Between now and Christmas I thought I might share a few of our traditions. I love traditions, don't you.
am so enjoying this Christmas season, getting the decorations up early has made things so much easier. I don't think I could have done all that baking if I had not cleaned and decorated early.

One of our traditions is sending Christmas cards to family and friends. We have had this tradition since our first year of marriage, it is something we do together. We get in our pjs, coffee and cookies near by,..I write the message, (his idea)he addresses the envelopes, ~smile~.They will be mailed today. Do you send Christmas cards?
love to shop for Christmas cards, it takes me a long time to choose just the right ones.
A little story...
In October, when the cards first came out, I thought I had bought two boxes, last week when I started thinking about getting them ready , I could not find them anywhere, ~sigh~ it seems I had hid them from myself, I even questioned if I had even bought them. I bet you have never done anything as silly as this, have you?
went and bought two more boxes, while placing them in a cabinet in the foyer I found the first ones I had bought. I must not have searched as throughly, as I thought,  ~wink~I kept them all.~smile~
Aren't they pretty?

Enjoy this day,
love,
Sue
P.S. I almost forgot , I also love to receive Christmas cards!~wink~

Hi Sue~

Your cards are so pretty! I love receiving cards as well, and I love to give them too. It's the only way to give a hug across the miles at Christmastime. And yes, I forget things like that all the time, especially if I am the least bit stressed or busy... ;0)

Hugs and Love,
Barb

Happy Holidays dear Sue! I love traditions oo and we've always sent out cards~some years with letters and the last number of years just photo Christmas cards. We done get many in return, I think do to email. I don't bake much anymore, but we do have lots of family traditions that my girls are now doing-like new PJ's at bedtime on Christmas eve.
May your weekend be filled with joy!
Love,
Noreen

Hello, Sue~

It's so nice to meet you. Thank you for stopping by my place for a visit.

We LOVE traditions in our family, especially those around the holidays. We used to send out Christmas cards and gifts to all our family and friends when we first got married, but when our list of just MY siblings and their children reached 35, we had to change it to.....if you will be with us for Christmas, you get presents and a card.

I can relate to putting things away for safe keeping and then completely forgetting where I put them. Now, when I put something important away, I take a picture of where I put it and send it to my daughter so we both know where to look!

Blessings to you and your family and MERRY CHRISTMAS~
Laura

40 degrees and sunny sound quite warm to me right now. : )
I still send out Christmas cards but not nearly as many as I used to.
I've never had help though. Nice that the two of you do it together.

Giving and receiving Christmas cards is such a joy.
I am the one who takes care of the cards though I must say, you two have a wonderful system. I will pass your great togetherness on to my husband. :-)
Your Christmas cards are quite lovely.
And yes,I have certainly miss placed things before. In fact, just this week I went to the bank and took out some cash and coins for gifts and couldn't find the rolled quarters anywhere in the car,I even thought maybe I dropped them in front of the bank in the parking lot while putting everything in the car?? I searched and searched in the dark when I got home, finally gave up, and looked again the next day, all was found.

Have a beautiful day~

Hello Sue,
I laughed at your hiding the cards from yourself. It's something I've done before, too. Your selections are very pretty. I love receiving cards and do send them out, although not as many as in previous years.

I think it's very sweet that you write out your cards together, Sue. Your cards are so cute. I started to write mine out last night and thought I had a few extra boxes from last year as well. Nope! I'm off to double check before I buy more! And yes, I look forward to the mailman coming to see those cards-especially the family photos!

Sue, your cards are so pretty. I'm glad you found your originals. Now maybe you won't have to buy cards for next year. Hiding things from myself is a gift of mine. It's so nice that you and your husband share the responsibility. We send out cards as well, but not as many as years past. Merry Christmas to you and yours! ♥

Your cards are very pretty, Sue. I hide things from myself all the time. I remember buying cards on clearance last year but so far haven't been able to find them. So annoying. :) They'll turn up as soon as I buy more, I'm sure! Have a nice weekend!

Sending Christmas cards is a tradition my mom always always always does. This year, being that it is my first Christmas away from home, I sent out my very own Christmas cards for the first time. It was so cozy, and I felt so much like my mom, as I can remember watching her year after year sit down at our kitchen table listening to Christmas music and writing out her cards. :) Hugs to you!

It makes me feel so good to know that I am not the only one who hides things from myself! Sometimes I'll tell the girls where I have put something, because I know that they'll remember when I go searching!

Christmas cards are a lot of work, but it is a great way to keep in touch! Your selections are pretty . . . all four boxes! ~wink~

In a perfect world, I like to send cards. My world is way less than perfect so I know that I am leaving people out. 😔
Yes, I lose things by putting them away too carefully. I just found a box of cards that I’ll set aside for next year. How nice that
your husband helps you by addressing the cards. Your card chore sounds very pleasant.

It's so nice to hear that someone else loves taking time selecting Christmas cards too!
Mum spends AGES choosing just the right one for everyone, it's such a special tradition to keep alive!
Lots of licks, your good friend Morrie :)
