Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

~Notes from the farmhouse~

Written by Sue, Friday, April 5, 2019`         raining, gloomy day outside, 60'temp.
I love productive days,  the feeling of having accomplished so much. That's not they way I had it planned for yesterday, my plans were to take Thursday off, to catch up on my blogging, and just do some piddling! I started out just the way I had planned, I read some blogs in the morning, then decided to straighten up the downstairs, before I knew it I not only had finished straightening, but had cleaned the bathrooms, vacuumed, and mopped! Sometimes I even amaze myself~Grin~

After dinner, I decided to exercise by walking outside, which is something I haven't done in a while, our pollen count has been so high, besides that,  about 10 days ago I had dropped a coffee mug on my foot, and had bruised it,  wearing closed in shoes wasn't comfortable. So  I decided t try anyhow, I found a mask, put on my walking shoes, off I went, I mean serious walking, (cardio.) 10,000 steps, which is usually my goal each day, (haven't done that in a while, ~wink~)

Today the house is tidy, I am back to blogging, ~smile~ It is raining again, no walking today or outside gardening.
My morning routine goes something like this....
When I wake, I always say, "Good Morning" to the One who kept me safe during the night, and commit my day to Him! If Mr P is awake he is next, and I give him a good morning kiss.
Proverbs 16: 3 Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.

I don't dress right away, I am off to the kitchen to make coffee. I use a percolator, here is a hint if you perk coffee, place a small sprinkle of salt on top of the coffee before perking, enhances the flavor. I learned this hint from a friend from Germany
While coffee is perking, I get my essential oil diffusers ready, by checking the water level adding essential oils, and on they go. I enjoy using essential oils, they seem to purify the air, and are so much healthier for you. I also use candles with essential oils!
Coffee is ready,

then it is devotional time with Mr P, having this time together before our day begins makes all the difference in all that we do, plus our relationship is solidified even more.

As a young bride, I  once heard a minister say that no matter how long you have been married that you have to work on your marriage each day, some days you might not feel like it, but you do anyhow. I never forgot this and have found it to be so true. You see, we are on a journey called "life"our lives and circumstances are always changing, thus we must learn to adapt., and work at it.

I love a simple life, nothing fancy for me, a spring vignette  in the foyer..
When my Mom comes to visit she always brings me something, would you like to guess what this is, my IG friends already know.~wink~ It is a Kleenex holder, she made this by cutting and gluing everything with her precious hands, look at the small details, I decided to place a timed led candle inside for Peter Rabbit and Flossie, during this spring season. I am truly blessed!

It is gloomy, raining, today, here at the farmhouse,

lets see if we can brighten the house by turning on some lights from the spring decorations in the foyer.
This is the  real reason we celebrate this season!

Thank you for visiting, and taking the time to read my posts. This is a journal of my life, and how I do things living in the country on a farmstead! In no way would I ever impose my way on anyone, we are all so unique, designed and created by a loving Father, we are here to help and complement each other, I know for sure that as I walk around in the neighborhood of blogland, that I am always so blessed, motivated and encouraged by you! I cannot adequately express what your friendship has and does mean to me.
Blessings,
Sue

New to your blog....but I think your farmhouse is lovely. I've dreamt of a farmhouse my whole life, and have turned this suburban lot into a farm as much as is legal...LOL.'
Open space...no traffic, peace and quiet...totally my speed about now.
Looks lovely!

Hi Sue~

I think the Spring air is what we all need...minus the pollen! I have made it a goal to get up earlier and go to bed earlier, I'll see how that goes ;0)

I truly feel that when I start my day with gratitude and prayer, it always goes better, even if the day doesn't end up as good as I hope, I can deal much better with it.

Your Easter decorations are so pretty, and I love the Kleenex house your mom made! I have a few treasures that my mother made and I treasure each one.

Yes, Christ is the reason we celebrate this beautiful, Easter season!! Blessings to you sweet friend!

Hugs and Love,
Barb

How pleasant the time has been that I have spent with you today. You can not imagine how happy I was that you don’t rise and dress pronto. I thought everyone did so finding someone who takes the morning with a pinch of salt and a nice cup of coffee first makes me feel happy. Your exercise plan sounds great. I haven’t surprised myself in years. 🙃

When I wake up, I put on my walking clothes and out I go. It is just not the same for me if I walk during another part of the day. : )
Good to hear that you are walking and congratulations on meeting your goal! :)
I'm one of the few people who doesn't like coffee.

I start my day with a little prayer I say as I walk out the door.
Thank you God for this day.
Walk with me along my way.
Do with me what you may,
And make me a better person today.

Such a wonderful way to start the morning off and connect together with our Lord. It's amazing what we can get accomplished by just getting started, isn't it? Spring brings new meaning to me here at our country bungalow. So much more to clean up and clear off after the snow has melted off. How sweet that you can still enjoy your dear mom and the gifts she makes for you. What a blessing. Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Sue, reading your words are very uplifting to me. Thank you. I appreciate your wisdom about marriage. We've now been married 51 years and I do not take a minute for granted. Congratulations on 10,000 steps. I've been working on more steps, but have yet to hit 10,000. Hopefully over time I will. Have a wonderful weekend.

Oh Sue, I love the gift from your Mom. So sweet and creative. I need to get busy getting my decorations out, Easter is quickly approaching. I haven’t had percolated coffee in a long time. I know it is delicious. Enjoy your evening dear friend. Hugs

I feel like I've had a visit with you today, Sue! I enjoyed our little chat and I can even taste that good strong coffee!

Your minister's words were wise, and you were wise to heed them. Some things are worth working for!

Wow, I'm impressed. I can't do that many steps a day. That is beautiful having devotion with Mr P. Your decorations are so cute.

Its so lovely around your place. I just love seeing how you have it decorated and all of the pretty views you have.
My son and daughter in law find out if they get their property in N.C.
Isn't that incredible? Have a lovely day and I hope your foot gets all better.

I am having the best time catching up on the posts I’ve missed! Oh, how I wish your farm was next to our camper cabin! We would have so much fun!
