~To live, love, and journal our days at~

Today was one of those sun kissed days again, I am very thankful that the Lord has given us sunshine for these few days and am looking forward to many more days. I tried to catch-up on laundry today. Ask me if I did, remember I said I tried. lol. Oh! well there is always tomorrow.

I just felt like I needed to get outside and soak up the sun. Last night we were watching one of my favorite series, The Waltons. The episode was about Olivia and her bicycle, I looked at my sweetie, and asked him if he knew where mine was. Yes! I do have a bicycle, and love to ride.
He said he did and asked if I wanted him to get it out for me.

This morning, I looked out on the front sidewalk, and what did I see, you guessed it. So, now do you see why I didn't finish my laundry? I bundled up and took off, and it felt so wonderful, I rode 3 1/2 miles. Not bad for an old girl.

When I got off, I could hardly walk, I felt and looked like one of those cowboys when he would get off his horse after riding in the saddle all day What a sight that was. lol

I always reward myself when I finish any exercise and that is,... I go sit by the pond and have a wonderful conversation with the Lord, this is time I like to meditate and pray..... I get to watch these guys as an added bonus. (Click to enlarge)
When I came in the house, I went to the tub, not the shower, I soaked my poor muscles for thirty minutes.
We had dinner and that is how my day went.. with a few extras tucked in here and there.

Oh! you know I said I was going to bake that pumpkin pie, I did that yesterday, and didn't get to take a picture, because we started eating it!

Since it is late, I will say goodnight, and don't let the bed bugs bite,
Hugs, Sue

Hi Sue, I loved that you rode a bicycle yesterday. I was doing spring cleaning and never even went outside much except to collect eggs.
When I first read your post, I wanted to say, "Oh Wow a kindred spirit". But I thought, Oh she won't know that was what Anne was looking for and then she found Diana. I just had to tell you that when I saw that was one of your favorite books.
I am thrilled to have met you and all of the things you love. It makes me so happy.
Thank you for asking about my health, I feel much better. I think it was God's way of making me aware that I needed to slow down and spend some quiet time with just Him.
I am so thankful you found me, I really had been praying about stopping blogging because I don't want to ever do anything that God doesn't want me too and I had asked Him on Monday morning was it His will for me. Then you left your post and it was such a direct answer to my prayer, I was over the moon.
So thank you very much for being such a encouragement to me.
You wrote about your Mom too. Mine just passed away on December 3rd and that was the reason I started blogging was for her. Just so she could see what I was doing every day.
I am going to put your link on my page if that is okay with you so I can follow you.
So once again, we share our faith, our books and even our houses. :) I am so thankful that God still sees and answers our prayers. You were a answer to mine. Have a blessed day.

I love watching the Waltons. It was a better time and place, in many ways. Great job taking time to exercise. I should so more myself.

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
