Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

Monday Morning Musings.

And what am I doing sitting in a swing so early in the morning?

Okay! I know I need a pedicure, but who has time? lol
I usually like to sit by the pond in summer after my walk and have my devotions, but not today as I didn't get to take my walk this morning, because dh left really early and he doesn't like for me to be out walking by myself when he is not around. Sooooo....

I have a busy day ahead today, not to mention the planned week , so much so that I was beginning to feel a little anxious this morning. Do you ever get this way?  So where do I go when I feel anxious or overwhelmed with the cares of life?.... The Bible, God's Word has the answers not only for me but for you too.

Philippians 4:6-7~ Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding , shall keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus.

While meditating on the above scripture, I looked out and both birds flew in the tree in front of me, I was immediately reminded of another scripture, and I  just looked up toward heaven, and smiled"thanking the Lord for his reminder of His love for me.

Does Mrs  Cardinal look worried today? or....(click on pics.)

how about Mr bluebird?
Matthew 10:31~Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Enjoy your day dear friends, and remember your value today!
Hugs,
Sue

This is what I did today.....
I took this photo yesterday, butterflies are one of the most beautiful creatures that God created.God knows that I enjoy them so much, therefore he fills my flower beds with lots and lots of them.(click to enlarge photo )
I walked  first thing this morning, as our mornings have become cooler, or should I say bearable. There was for a while I could hardly take the heat even when I walked really early. This change is a sure sign that fall is coming soon!! Yea!! I can also see some of the leaves  beginning to change their colors.

After I walk I always treat myself to some alone time with the Lord, I will go and sit by the pond with my Bible and journal in hand. This is the most precious time of day for me. I get to sit and  commune with the One who makes my life worth while.

Psalm 63:1~ O God, thou art my God;early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is:

Our pond is pretty well stocked with catfish, brim, bass and who knows what else lurks beneath these waters. These catfish are very large, it was like watching a bunch of sharks run around. LOL
I took these pictures yesterday, aren't they the cutest. They entertain us so much.

I am still working on making "Apple Butter", this week I hope to finish the apples and start on the grapes. You might ask Why? make so much "Apple Butter." My mother has a widow's group and at Christmas time she gives each of them a "goodies bag" loaded with homemade goodies. I try and make different jams and jellies for her to give. I also give them to friends and family too, they make really nice gifts.

Tomorrow I will make applesauce! Needless to say I am anxious to get the fruits done so I can get to my fall cleaning, and  put up my fall decorations. I have been thinking about cheating and going ahead and putting  the decorations up and then cleaning. This goes totally against my nature. LOL I will admit to being  behind with my housework with all the traveling and company this summer. But it was all worthwhile,I really miss being with our children and grandchildren.

Nothing very exciting happened today, just busy, busy, busy. lol.

I want to thank each of you who stop by and take the time to read these meager words of mine and for taking the time to leave a comment. May God bless and keep you in His loving care.
Hugs,
Sue
Hello everyone  it has been a while since I posted, so much has happened that it would  fill a book. So I will begin by telling what my day today was like,,,,,,
But first let me go back to last evening........ while we were walking through the garage  both of us  smelled this foul odor. You see I have two freezers in there and we both new that one had knocked off. One was off but not broken, it had been accidentally unplugged.

I have this microwave sitting on a shelf next to the freezer, just for the family to use when they come home, and it stays unplugged until such time . Our daughter and her family have been here this summer and she was getting ready to leave Monday, as usual we were running late, she put something in the microwave oven, and being the dutiful daughter  she wanted to unplug it, but accidentally unplugged the freezer. We didn't find it until last evening, so today I cleaned the freezer out. We were just given 10lbs. of fresh flounder last week by a friend. You can imagine the smell. LOL Luckily I didn't have the majority of our fruits and veggies in there. We don't plan to tell her, because she would feel so bad.

After washing and letting it sun outside today, it still has that fishy odor, so I have decided to try vinegar for a few days.

But I have been busy making apple butter and apple juice, and inside my house has had a different smell, the smell of cloves , cinnamon and allspice simmering with apples, oh! such a wonderful fragrance. Our apples are so plentiful this year, while last year not one apple was on our trees. So I will take advantage of this abundance this year to which I am so thankful to God for this harvest!

Apples remind me of harvest time and I am so looking forward to the changing of the seasons. How about you are you looking forward to fall?
Hugs,
Sue
Genesis 8:22~While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
