~To live, love, and journal our days at~

A new day! A new beginning!!
written by Sue, Saturday, January 15, 20ll
I took this photo early this morning, God's mercies are new everyday!

Yesterday was my second day walking my 2 miles, my goal is to work up to 4 miles a day.,and it felt so good to be able to get outside and breath the fresh air. Thursdays walk had me sparring with the rooster that we had gotten earlier this year, I am happy to report I won!
We finally finished getting the Christmas decoration put away, in the garage, and both Mr. P and I were two happy campers. The boxes had been sitting all around the house for a week, because of snow and we both were tired of looking at them.lol

Yesterday I worked on trying to get the house back in order, didn't get very far though! I started in the dining room, for some reason this seems to be my favorite place to start. I had my music playing and was just humming along with my work. Ooops!! I  picked this glass globe to clean and dropped in on this charger.I know this hasn't happened to any of you, now has it?
We are trying to eat healthier this year, except for the chocolate cake, which Mr. P has enjoyed. So for dinner we had broiled flounder, peas, slaw, and 1 piece of cornbread each. The evening was quiet, dh went to a local basketball game, I watched Monk, just love this show,as I so relate to his clean phobia I also blogged always fun for me.
For today, I will walk, do some cleaning, and we have plans to go to the mall this evening. Happy Saturday and I hope your day is filled with many blessings.

Hi Sue, : :) :) :) :) Your ph oto is beautiful!! I'm sorry that you broke your glass globe:(:(

WAlking sounds like a good activity. It's so easy and healthy !! I really need to do more walking..just don't want to walk in the rain :) :)

Oh, I had to drool over your new blogger header. I'm looking for storage jars like yours. I'm actually stopping by a yardsale today...all items, including household goods, just $1. So I'm hoping to find some good storage jars for spices, noodles etc!!! Wish me luck :) :)

Have a lovely weekend Sue!!! Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

I just love your days when you get to be at home. I love Monk too! It is nice to watch someone who like things clean. Oh do I know about dropping things. I have dropped more things this week.
Oh, you have one of those kind of roosters? I am glad you won. Sounds like he is needing to be someones chicken dinner. :) Enjoy your weekend.

Putting up the Christmas decorations always gets me in a cleaning spree. I think I have got the house all back in order now and a trip to the thrift store to make a donation:) Your dinner sounded so good! Have a blessed Saturday!

Hi Sue!

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
