Promises kept, & a promise yet to be fulfilled!!

Written by Sue, Saturday,October, 22,2010                        beautiful fall day, 80's
Hello dear friends,
Hope all is well with you, and that you are enjoying  beautiful fall weather. We have had some of the most beautiful weather that we have not had in a very long while, and I have been taking advantage of every waking moment. Mr P. has to push me into the house at the end of day. I work, I relax by the pond, and  I play.~smile~

After waiting all summer my Angel Trumpets have finally bloomed.

Out and about today!
This Purple Salvia was full of bees and no wonder it has such a wonderful fragrance.

Promises kept is what I will talk about tonight, You see I have a very dear friend here in blogland neighborhood, her name is Kim, she blogs at My field of my dreams. I first met Kim, by visiting another blog, and when I started reading her blog I kept going to older posts. I found her blog to be so sweet, and so honest. I immediately felt a kindred spirit with her. If you visit her I promise you will stay awhile!
Anyhoo to make a long story short, some time ago, she and I decided we would exchange gifts,(isn't blogging fun?) Well, Kim sent me my goodies, which I love, Kim is very gifted with her hands,

This cross stitch "simplify" hangs on this cabinet  that belonged to my grandmother.
I treasure gifts that are hand made, I know there is so much love and time put into them.
This darling pumpkin has found a place among photos and whatnots.  I told you she was gifted!!!
She grew these pumpkins, and I am going to save the seed to plant next year.

She also sent me some pumpkins seed, how blessed am I!!

Miss Queen(me) of procrastination just kept procrastinating,a.n.d procrastinating. Since I am not gifted with my hands I really wanted to send her something special, but could never find just the right thing. So after many weeks of doing what I do best (procrastinating). I finally decided ... enough is enough. So I am happy to say that Kim, your goodie boxes are ready to be mailed, thus fulfilling a promise.

I also have another friend here in blogland his name is Benjamin, his mother Janette is  another dear friend too. she blogs over at Janettesage, Benjamin named our last calf for us, and I asked his mother if she would ask him if he would like to name the little adopted chick, that I had blogged about a few weeks ago.
Dear Benjamin,
here are the photos I promised , and I will be looking for you to name our little chick.
He is so cute, he just scoots all over the yard, and always into everything. He also whins all the time.

We were waiting until we knew if it was a rooster or hen, well "Dear Benjamin",it is a little rooster, and he is waiting for his name. He hasn't discovered that he is a chicken yet. He still thinks he is a guinea.

I also promised Benjamin that I would send him a photo of the calf he named Benita, she has really grown a lot this summer.

and I finally got around to that today. Love my horses!!

So two promises I made, are now being fulfilled, to Kim and to Benjamin I am so sorry for taking so long in fulfilling my promises.

I have been made a promise too by "One", who always keeps His promises .....
John:14:2-3-4~"In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, "I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."And if I go and prepare a place for you,I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
"And where I go you know, and the way you know."

Just like Kim and Benjamin have been looking forward to their promises being fulfilled, I too am anxiously waiting for my promise, to come into fruition. Heaven is a real place and as a believer in Jesus Christ, I cannot fathom in my mind what a wonderful and beautiful place it is, and to think that my Lord has gone to prepare this beautiful place for all of us who believe in Him. I have seen some spectacular and beautiful sites in this world, but I am told that nothing can compare to Heaven. We will need no sunshine in heaven for the "Son" will be our light!! The best part is loving and worshiping the One who died, gave his life for me,and was resurrected, that I might live eternally with Him in this wonderful heaven!

Until we meet again, May your days be filled with much joy.
Sue

Sharing thoughts from my heart with you,

Thank you so much for coming by, please come and visit anytime.

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
