~Do you know what today is?~

Written by Sue, Thursday, May 3, 2012                    Beautiful, sunny day, temps. 90's

Today is National Day of Prayer, it is early morning as I sit on my porch admiring the beauty of God's creation, listening to the many sounds around me, so many different birds singing, I watch the bluebirds as they scurry about looking and finding food, I see them going in and out of their boxes feeding their babies, I hear the sound of the train whistle as it approaches the crossing in the far distant, I hear traffic  on the highway  as folks are scurrying to their destination. I am wondering what these folks are thinking as they travel, many are probably praying for our nation, recognizing today is set aside as NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, and praying for their own personal needs too.

I am  thinking of how blessed, and thankful  that I am to live in a country where I can enjoy this beauty and freedom, without fear of any reprisal, and if I so choose, I can get in my car and drive just about anywhere.I dearly LOVE this country, and I am so thankful for the freedoms I have, and for those who gave, and continue to give  the ultimate sacrifice that these freedoms continue.

I have many concerns for our  country as we are having to make some very important decisions this year, and for the apathy that I see all around. I DEARLY love the USA, and count myself blessed to have been born here. One concern is that the freedoms we have which were based on our Constitution will remain where they were placed! They have worked for these many years.

This is my prayer too....

                                                             2012 NATIONAL PRAYER

Dr. David Jeremiah – NDP Honorary Chairman

2012 NATIONAL PRAYER

Heavenly Father,
Every good gift and perfect gift comes from You. You are a faithful God and Your mercy endures forever.
You have promised to bless the nation that trusts in You.  Our currency proclaims “In God We Trust,” but in our culture we are far from You.
In the words of the prophet Daniel, “We have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.”
We come before You once more, seeking Your forgiveness and mercy.  You, O God, are our only hope… Hear our prayer and, for Your honor’s sake, shine Your face upon this nation.
Give our leaders the desire to seek Your wisdom and the courage to follow Your guidance… and watch over the men and women of our armed forces as they sacrifice for the cause of freedom.
We give You thanks for all You have done for us, and we earnestly pray that You will help us become, once again, a nation whose God is the Lord.
In the name of Your Son, and our Savior, we pray this prayer.
Amen
II Chronicles 7:14~If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Love,
Sue

Thank you so much for coming by, please come and visit anytime.

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
