Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

What to do when it rains on your parade?

Written by Sue, Monday, October 9, 2017        showers, very hot and humid, where oh where is Autumn?

Why you just carry on, we had such a wonderful time, Saturday night, 28 family and friends came, we also celebrated 6 birthdays!

We didn't get to go on the hayride, because of the rain, however the rain stopped long enough for us to have a campfire and sing-a-long! I was so busy, didn't get any photos.

My two friends, Julie and Trish,
 Living room ready for company!
 dining room buffet
Keeping it simple in the foyer, sorry the lampshade is crooked!
Setting one of the tables. we had 28 family and friends!
Apple cider that I had canned a few weeks ago.
My friend Trish brought this  cream cheese ball, so delicious!
Here is the buffet, broccoli salad, potato salad, deviled eggs, green beans, squash casserole, creamed corn, ham,/ with special cranberry sauce, and baked chicken., and homemade biscuits.
Tried a new squash casserole recipe, will be making it again!
 Potato salad, deviled eggs anyone?
Made this broccoli salad, oh it was so yummy!
 Love fall decorating, and lights.
One of the dessert tables, ginger snaps,  chocolate chip cookies, rice crispy treats,
favors for guest to take home, homemade autumn chex mix.
Lots more desserts, we celebrated 6 birthdays., Birthday cake, black midnight cake, pumpkin pie.
 Food and fellowship, nothing better!
Men really love and enjoy home cooked meals, they were so complimentary.

 Lots of laughter!
Enjoying each others company after dinner

Friends catching up! Loved hearing all the voices as they flowed from one room to another!

Susan and I stayed up until everything was back in order, such a great feeling!Clean-up only took 1 1/2 hours!

Jack is feeling like I am today, tired ( a good tired), over fed, and  too much late night!

I am so thankful for family and friends, and special times like this, we are already planning one for November, maybe this time we can have the hayride. ~smile~

I am also thankful for you, my online friends,
Thank you for visiting,
Blessings,
Sue

Is anything more of a gift than sweet hospitality? I know that your friends were blessed. i didn’t know that your home had a living room or else you have not shared it before. 😉 What a spread! No wonder the men were happy.

Hi Sue!

Wow, I could almost taste all that gorgeous food! This is truly the time of year that we just need to slow down and enjoy each other's company. Your home is just amazing, so comfy and welcoming. I'm so sorry it rained, I was looking forward to photos from the hayride! But, there is nothing better than a warm fire, good friends, and music.

What a fun post, Sue!!

Hugs and Love,
Barb
