Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

~And what have we been doing?~

Written by Sue,SaturdayApril, 14, 2012                        absolutely a sun kissed day, temps, 80 degrees
This project is almost finished!  Just a few touch ups,  putting the gate back and adding the wire to keep unwanted guest from helping themselves to our dinner.

Savoring a few moments,... Can you see the mallards flying in the Carolina blue skies?
Meet our new orphaned lamb, how could a mother abandon a beautiful baby like this one, though her face is a little dirty from drinking and then playing in the dirt, she is still adorable, and has the sweetest personality, typical child, ~smile~ We have been feeding her for about three weeks.  She also is in need of a name! If you have a child that would like to help us name her, please let me know and I will put it in a hat, and draw it out.

She wants to be with us at all times, and when out of her pen she is alway near by, except when
running around, and up and down the rows in the  garden wanting me to play with her. What we really need around here are some grandchildren to help babysit , any volunteers? ~smile~
I have been busy gathering strawberries, making jam, recipe will come later, and let me tell you it is so simple and delicious.

"Whew! I am tired and need a rest!"says she. Animals are like us, they thrive on love, and kindness!

"Okay, nap time is over, now lets play."
"How much  do you love me? I know my face is dirty, but hey! I am just a kid."

This is what my lavender looked like two days ago, I didn't check it today as I was afraid the frost might have hurt it. I absolutely love the fragrance of lavender, and it is so pretty too!!
The bees were enjoying them too!
This cabbage will soon be ready.
I must run as we are going to be visiting my favorite garden nursery, and making our hanging baskets today! We have also been planting and tending both veggie and flower gardens, repairing the farmhouse, painting and still savoring our days at the farm! God is good!! all the time , and yes!!! even in the trials of life we find His peace, and contentment in knowing Who is in charge.  Enjoy your day and savor each moment as they are gifts from our heavenly father.
Love,
Sue

James1;17~ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

~Finally out and about~

Written by Sue, Tuesday, March 13,2012          a beautiful, sunny day, temp. 80 degree, unbelievable!, so thankful!
Hello Dear Ones,
I  pray all is well with you and yours, I guess by now it is obvious that I have been  on a break, one that I did not chose. I am so much better, and getting stronger each day. Thank you so much for your kind thoughts, cards, emails, and thoughtful gifts, but most of all for your prayers.

I am blessed beyond words to have you in my life. But am even more blessed to have such a wonderful husband that takes such great care of me,. He has the heart and hands of Jesus, so compassionate and caring.I remember waking up one night when I was so sick, and feeling his hand gently on my head and hearing him softly praying for me. I never let him know that I had  heard him as I knew that he and the Lord were having a quiet time together, but needless to say, there were tears of joy from my eyes.

So many verses in the Bible speak of God's strength for us, one of my favorites that I have committed to memory  is Habakkuk 3:19~ The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Each day as I am getting  stronger, I know that I will once again be jumping as the deer in these photos that I took today from inside our front door.

With my strength returning I look around and see so  much work that needs doing, (for me that's a good sign that I am better, lol) our dear little farmhouse, and garden  have been calling  my name asking me when or if I will be able to attend to their needs, ~smile~

Another motivation to get busy cleaning is, some of the older grandchildren have called and want to visit in April, while on spring break! Now that is a shot of energy for this grandma! ~big grin~

Today was a busy one, as I had an appointment for a hair cut,one that I had canceled twice during my illness, this is what it looked like before leaving today, looking real shaggy, huh?

Why the photo, well I had been telling my hairdresser that I needed a before and after photo, because she does such a great job with my hair, so my plans were to take one before I left, which I did,  come home and take the after photo, well, guess who forgot to take the after photo when she got home? She did a beautiful job! I need all the help I can get! lol

It seems I got side tracked by going to visit a friend who had recently moved back, (after being gone for 20 years,) to our neck of the woods. She had called weeks ago, but because of my illness we just couldn't get together.

My plans when I left the salon was to go straight home, but for some reason I was inspired to make a turn toward her son's home, whom she is living with while her home is being built! I do not make it a habit of just dropping in on people, as I do not like this to happen to me, but God's plans and ways are not ours.

We had a wonderful visit, and made plans to visit a nursing home soon. You see, lately my heart's desire has been to start visiting nursing homes again, but just could not seem to get it going because of being sick. I found out that she had been visiting several since returning, this is something she and I used to do together, one that I have so missed! We picked up right where we had  left off, just like it was only yesterday that we were together.Talk about our steps being ordered by God, and His perfect timing for our lives! ......

So not a whole lot going on around here as I have been out of commission for about six weeks, dh has continued to work on the green house, all the while looking after me, and what a wonderful job he is doing, I really feel bad that I have not been able to help him, I did however, slip out and take some photos, and will update in a later post.
Pear Tree Lane is in full bloom, I  took these this afternoon as I was coming home.
I love to walk under these trees and inhale the fragrance from these flowers! Just savoring another moment! These trees will soon shed these beautiful flowers for beautiful green leaves that will turn orange, burgundy, yellow and golden come fall!
Do you remember, Noel the lamb that we raised on a bottle, well, here she is all weaned and doing well, when I pass by the fence she runs and lets me rub her back. The other sheep just stare at us, not quite figuring out what is going on.

I think of you so often, and hope to be back posting regularly and visiting soon,. Please understand why I have not been out in blogland, as there are times when one is so ill, that they just don't feel like talking. I have only recently started taking phone calls.

Until next time,
Love,
Sue
