~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sunday thoughts and blessings!

Written by Sue, Sunday, October 29, 2017            cloudy with showers, temp. 60's love fall.

May the road you travel today be filled with love, joy, peace, and so many blessings so your container overflows, into the container of the person walking beside you.

A kind word or smile will lift the broken hearted, many times I have been the recipient of such kindness, when it was most needed!!!

There is a lady, whom we did not know,  who drives by our farm each day on her way to work, many times Mr. P would be out working as she passed, he waves with a smile. One day she stopped and thanked him, saying there were many times when she was feeling sad, and his wave and smile lifted her spirit.

Small gestures are BIG IN THE EYES OF GOD!

Proverbs, 25:11~ A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

Blessings,
Sue

~Friend of God~

Written bu Sue, Sunday June 28, 2014                     A most beautiful day, low humidity, temps. in low 80's

It is early "Pa" and Susan are peacefully sleeping, I slip quietly out to the screen porch for some alone time with my Friend, as I sit here listening to the birds, and other animals give praise to the One who made this day,  I too join  them in giving praise, glory and honor, to this Friend of mine.
In my devotions I have been studying in Genesis and of Abraham's life, today I read in chapter 17-18 of how God changed Abraham and Sarah's name, and of the covenant that was made between them, with the promise of Abraham being the "Father of many nations,"Sarah being the "Mother of many nations."  it being sealed with the covenant of male circumcision.

The power point for me was of how unique God and Abraham's relationship was, their relationship was so solidified that Abraham could ask God for anything, even bargain with him over the  wicked city Sodom, where his nephew Lot and his family lived, and God so willingly listened and agreed, sadly the end result was destruction, but God saved Lot and his family.

There is such a big difference between "knowing about God", and really "knowing God intimately", Abraham had this intimate relationship with God, in Isaiah 41:8, Abraham was called "The friend of God," Isaiah 41:8~ "But you, O Israel, my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham, my friend,

In this study, I am challenged more than ever to maintain my friendship with God, How about you? I have learned through life experiences that friendships take time, they need nourishment,  open communication, always listening and willing to heed advice.  I find this to be even more so with my friendship, and relationship with God!

On a personal note: I have been very busy with gardening, and preserving the fruits and veggies, and enjoying visits from family, with more to come during the 4th of July! What a blessed summer this is for me, I love having my family home!. I so apologize for not visiting your homes, please understand. I will try harder, I promise

Comments are off on this Sunday, rest with your Friend

Written by Sue, Saturday, September 24, 2011                                     warm and humid, 80 temps.
I went to bed last night, with many prayer needs on my heart and mind, some were personal others from family and friends far and near, and for you dear friends too.I am also much concerned about the direction our country is going.

As I lay there meditating, I felt this sense of "peace" that can only be given by our Heavenly Father. I was also pondering on some events in my own life, and wondered how I came through without falling apart.  My Heavenly Father and I were quietly having a conversation, ... Don't you enjoy those special quiet moments with Him, especially in the wee hours of the morning?.....After a few minutes my mind was brought to a picture that hangs in the guest bathroom. Isn't it wonderful that when we get so weary and unable to carry our load, that He just sweeps us up in His strong loving arms and carries us through. I am so glad that my Father is not weak and emaciated, that His muscles are big and strong, and will not falter under my heavy load.

Thanking Him for reaching down and lifting me up.

Deuteronomy 33:27~ The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms;
He will thrust out the enemy from before you, and will say 'Destroy'
