Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Written by Sue, Sunday, June24,2012                           Monday is going to be hot, humid, with afternoon thunderstorms.
If you were given a beautiful cedar chest, and when you opened it found the price tag was left tagged inside, how tempted would you be to look?

I have been receiving some wonderful gifts lately from my younger sister, and am loving each of them!  An amazing thing is these treasures, which she has owned for many years  have never been used! It seems she has decided to simplify her life, and asked if I wanted them. Why of course, I do!! The most amazing thing, is that most of these gifts have been items that I have secretly had on my lifetime wish list.

When I was a young girl, dreaming of one day marrying, I would visit my grandmothers, and saw that my Aunt Jan,had a beautiful hope chest, and secretly wished for one of my very own. But I didn't ask because I knew my parents could not afford one,.... life went on, however I did marry my Prince..... So never give up, here after all these years is my very own hope chest. It is so pretty! I am so thankful to have such a loving, and giving  sister, who didn't know that she was fulfilling a young girls dreams.

Here is another secret wish that she unknowingly fulfilled,...
a Herschede Grandfather clock, it has the most beautiful chimes!

While  we were there  to pick it up she said, "I have had this for over thirty years, and just didn't know how to work it, and now I am wanting to simplify." If you notice, it was placed in my foyer, way before I found the water leak. I was so happy and just had to confess to her that I had wanted one for years! These are just two gifts I have been blessed with. I will share some more later.
2 Corinthians 9: 7~So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.
To all who commented on my post about the water leak, Thank you for your sweet words of encouragement! All equipment has been removed, and we are waiting for the adjuster to return, and then the work really begins.
BTW~ I did see the price tag, there was no way I couldn't as I am planning on using it for my sweaters and or blankets. Nothing sits idle around this farmhouse, not people nor things that work. ~grin~
Enjoy your Monday
Sue
James 1:17~Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
