Saturday is the day~

that we set aside as a day to do things that we just want to do. Sometimes we go antique browsing, thrifting,  and mall shopping. It is what we call a free day, though most times we end up working very hard, because most projects require some time.lol

I cleaned my dining room last week, and promised my buffets that I would come back later and organize their drawers. lol.

Saturday here I come...
I took my table linens out and decided to press them (all of them)  and organize the drawers. I could hardly open them,as the drawers were bulging.
I had table cloths that had never been used, and were still in their packages, this is one of them a white damask,with napkins. It is so pretty!

This matching napkin almost looks gray.. the detail is so pretty.

This tablecloth was made and given to me by my mother a very long time ago, I mean a very long time ago. I cherish it, because I know the time it took to make it.

And done by loving hands!

This tablecloth was one that belonged to my dear mother-in-love, I remember  her putting it out during the holiday season, and it was used for placing deserts on at her annual Christmas dinner. And now I get to use it at Christmas. Having and being able to use family heirlooms is such a joy!

Do you think I might have too many napkins here? I ironed all 143 Saturday. What's that you ask? How do I know? 

I counted them! lol. Most of these napkins still had the tickets on them, and they are just about as old as I am. I have collected a lot of things over the years, and it seems that napkins must have been one of them, and I didn't even realize that I was collecting them. lol

All tablecloths ironed and neatly stacked,... Oh! What's that You ask? How many table cloths? Oh! 15 or so! Yes!  I counted them. These tablecloths and napkins have been with us a very long time!.( I don't throw any thing away)... In my defense hee hee I only paid 25 cents for some, and most cost under a dollar! lol..... I can now stop using the same tablecloths and napkins every time since I have no excuse for not using these, now that they are pressed and tags taken off. lol

I heard a  commotion in the kitchen, when I went to see what was going on, I found Quacky Duck jabbering away... She spread herself across the side and told Miss Prissy to move over, that she was the new kid on the block, and that prissy had to sit and be pretty. the nerve of some people!!
