Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

~Amour Amour Amour~

Written by Sue, Monday, February 12, 2018     partly sunny with afternoon showers, very warm, temps. 70's

A little farmhouse love from me to you on this week of Valentine's Day! May your days be filled with love, joy, peace, contentment, happiness and thankfulness.
This is a table in the breakfast area that I decorated, a visible reminder of "Love"
.
We must celebrate with chocolates, I could eat the whole box!~wink~
of course we must have flowers
the foyer also sings a tune of  "Love" too!(oops forgot to clear the banister)
The master bath sends a love note to me while I am getting dressed!(another oops, I forgot to remove the paper towel holder).

I interrupt this love feast to announce my plans for this week, cleaning and organizing closets after a fiasco last week of and uninvited guest,(more about that later). Hint...Eeeek! I will also be baking cookies to mail to loved ones near and far.
have a blessed day,
Love ,
 Sue

The week that was......

Written by Sue, Saturday, February, 15, 2014         A beautiful sunny, cold, windy day, high temps. 48 degrees.
What a week this has been, we have had three different rounds of snow, sleet and freezing rain starting early Tuesday, going through Thursday morning,we got 9 inches of precip.,then the rain came and temps. began rising late Thursday, with melting, and refreezing at night, with above freezing temps yesterday and today it all went away, well, mostly, we have just a little snow hanging around the woodlands.
Yesterday morning Lucy enjoying the snow.
We left to run errands, came home six hours later, same view!
Valentines Day is usually celebrated by a special meal, either made at home or going to our favorite restaurant, this year we waited until this evening to go out. We seldom give monetary gifts, just each other's company, and maybe a little holding of hands while driving, suffices for us. We have been married many years and when DH reaches for my hand I still get goose bumps!

Our children usually take care of the gifts! ~smile~  Son #2 and his family sent a special surprise, he called Thursday and told us to be on the lookout for a box, they have to give forewarning of gifts as our gate is usually locked.

We knew the snow would slow delivery of anything, so we left the gate open past dark, I thought I heard a truck and a horn blow, by the time I got outside there was nothing there, so DH went and locked the gate.
Long story short, this morning when I let Jack out I happen to look to my right, and there was this box, I was completely taken aback. When I read there were flowers in the box, I hurriedly took it in and got busy clipping and putting them in water. Whew! I was afraid being out in below freezing temps. last night and the warm sunshine this morning might have ruined them.

Not so, they were and are absolutely beautiful.  I guess the guy was running late, and didn't take the time to ring the bell, I will excuse him this time, It's a good thing for him the flowers were doing well!~grin~
There was even a small box of chocolates tucked inside too for Mr. P., he did share., just as I am sharing my beautiful flowers with him. ~smile~

Hope your day was special too!

I took lots of snow photos, but figured all of blogland might be a little tired of snow, and like me are looking forward to Spring, maybe later. ~smile~
Enjoy your weekend.
