Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

A special thanks to Susan for her inspiration to post  my daybook today, please visit her blog.

For today May 18, 2010

Outside my window.... cool and overcast, just received some much needed rain.

am thinking .... Please Mr plumber come and install my new hot water heater. lol

am thankful.... for family and friends, especially my blogging friends

From the learning room..... Please check appliances often to see how they are running.

From the kitchen..... fresh veggies from the garden.

am wearing.... blue pants and green top, nice combo. huh!

am remembering.... what a special time we had with daughter and her family this past week.

am creating..... new flower pots for our porch.that is if we get the porch renovation completed soon.

am going to the garden to do some work, in hopes that the hot water will be on when I come in for a shower.

am reading... My Bible!

am hoping....  to see our granddaughter Lauren graduate from high school this weekend.

am now hearing the sander on our porch by my dh and a friend!

noticed my hummingbirds have come back for a visit, and I am so thankful for this.

On my mind... Looking forward to spending time with family.

Pondering words..... "The charm of a house, like the charm of a person, is an outward manifestation of inward grace"... Emily Post.

Around the house.... gather veggies and hope to be able to freeze some broccoli

One of my favorite things to do...... is to go sit on the porch late at night with my dear husband and listen to the animals say their goodnights to each other., while pondering over the events of our day.

few plans..... finish my ironing, and make ready the house for trip.

favorite photo.... I took this a couple of weeks ago, as it was passing over the farm. I am like a child in the fact that I enjoy such sites.

Enjoy your day!
Sue

Good evening Sue, I hope the plumber showed up and you have hot water. :)
I like your day book entry. I tried to get it going on my site but finally gave up. I am not really computer savvy. It's a good thing I am married to a computer programmer.
He was out of town all day and I just hated to have him come home and work some more on the computer.
I hope you did have a nice day and I do hope you get to go to Georgia.
My brother and his family live in Georgia. I have never visited though.
I hope you have a very nice day tomorrow. I hope it rains a bit more though not as much as Tennessee. That is to much rain.
You brighten my days,
My friend and I am thankful
God just sent you by when I needed it for a visit.
Love,
Kim

The Emily Post quote is gently inspiring...I'm SO sorry about your water heater. Hoping today finds it all up and running. (I forget about THIS blog sometimes, Sue. I enjoy the day book format.)
