~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

Thankful Thursday

Here is my picture of the day, it has nothing to do with my TT post, but I just think these guys are the cutest. They follow my dh every time he is out and  about. They should be in the pond swimming, but we have this giant turtle who harasses them so they only sit around the edge, and happily wait for the turtle to hibernate in late fall. What cowards they are, not really just smart, because we have seen that turtle sneak up and pull a full grown guinea under and have it or breakfast, lunch, and dinner.lol
I am so thankful  for many things, but what I am so thankful today for is an air condition home. We are still under the a loooong and hot heat wave. Every day the weatherman says "sorry folks tomorrow will be hotter than today". I'm thinking "can this be possible?"LOl

When we were first married, we didn'ant have air condition in our home, we relied on fans and windows open at night. But I so clearly  remember our first window unit we bought, and how it came about...

We were under a heat wave like this one, and were up all night trying to stay cool and keep our two young babies cool too. My dh husband said " if I live to see tomorrow I will have air condition". So the next day he went to J.C. Pennys, and bought us a window unit and did something he had not done before, Charged it.lol

Oh! my goodness! I can still remember how it felt, and how thankful we were.

I am also reminded today that there are people here in this great country, as well as over the world, who don't have air condition, and I choose to pray for them today while I am being thankful.

Hope you are staying cool, and enjoying your summer.

Very cute photo! I'm with you on the air conditioning. I think that is one of the greatest things man has ever created.

Love how the ducks are following your hubby. Too cute! Yes, sometimes it is easy to lose sight of the simple things we are thankful for. I am so thankful for my AC too.

Thanks for the visit to my blog, I hope you will come back. :) I've been kinda sporadic lately.

Hope you have a blessed rest of the week and weekend.
Hugs,
Cindy

Oh Sue, thank your for sharing about your air conditioning. We didn't have one for the first 12 years we were married so I still remember summers and the heat. I am afraid though, I do forget to be thankful for them. I just love the picture of your husband and the ducks. That is the best picture. Do you have those giant turtles, loggerheads? My sister has them and I had never heard of them until she had to shoot one to
keep it from killing her dog.
I hope you can keep cool today. It will be hot here today but nothing like yours because we don't have the humidity.
I love your posts and I love your Thankful Thursday post. I just love hearing How our Father blesses other peoples lives.
I know you sure bless mine.
Have a wonderful Thursday today.
Love,
Kim

I know air conditioning is such a blessing in the heat. We have it here but thankfully we have not had to use it too much so far. We are having a cool summer, we will see how July and August go!

It's really hot here too. I'm very thankful for the ac! And I'm thankful for friends like you that I can visit while staying in out of the heat ♥

I can remember when we got our first air conditioner, too. Usually all I need is a fan, but it is nice to know the AC is there. I agree, I am thankful for AC. Cute ducks!

MY sis and BIL are still here from Chicago and they have not wilted and died yet!!!And they drink little to NO water, I on the other hand drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of H2O per day!!!!
love it and crave it!!!!

Sue, I join you with your gratitude for air conditioning!!! The older I get, the less I can stand the heat. We lived for 15 years with NO air conditioning...and now I cannot imagine being without it. And I am certainly thankful for this blessing in my life...and I tell the Lord that often! I'd give up many conveniences before I'd give up my air conditioning!

Hi Sue!

I can remember feeling the same way, only I don't think we get the same oppressive heat here in Idaho - we get hot though, 87 degrees here yesterday!

We are so very blessed to have such luxuries, but I know that you and your sweetheart, like me and mine, have worked very hard in order to have those things - and we are very grateful to a loving Heavenly Father for all of our blessings. I also pray for all those who are suffering, that they will be comforted.

I do hope it cools down a bit for you, your husband and the cute little ducks!

Hugs and blessings,
Barb
