~To live, love, and journal our days at~

Written by Sue, Tuesday August 20, 2013      Cloudy, warm and very humid today, showers expected.

"Moon Shots" as seen through my camera lens! All of these were taken within a few minutes of each other. I found this so amazing. Isn't that the way life is? It all depends on how we look at it!~smile~

Joining my friend Vee  at today's notecard party, thanks Vee for hosting.
Enjoy your day,

Those really are amazing photos! I tried to take pics of the moon last night but I don't think they turned out. Enjoy your afternoon!

Blackberry Lane August 20, 2013 at 2:39 PM

Very unique and pretty shots. Would make lovely notecards.

tania August 20, 2013 at 3:01 PM

Hi Sue!

Wow! beautiful! I sure wish I had a camera that could take those kind of shots. You don't know but my dream was to be an astronomer crushed dream in my jr year of high school but I still love science and all the mysteries of the sky so these photos are just breath taking to me!

I hope all is well on the farm, as you know I have taken time off and now I am back and I look forward in taking that peek into your wonderful life. I do enjoy your blog I can only imagine how beautiful your home and life is and I am thankful for you to share it with all of us.

Vee August 20, 2013 at 3:09 PM

I am always in awe of a great shot of the moon...haven't been able to achieve it lately myself. Silver or gold moons...both beautiful!

Jeanne August 20, 2013 at 3:29 PM

Excellent!! I love the way you did this. Great note cards.

Pamela Gordon August 20, 2013 at 3:38 PM

These are great moon shots. It's the full moon tonight and I'm hoping the thunder clouds will clear off so I can get a pic. I don't think it's going to happen in time though. :)

Carol August 20, 2013 at 3:44 PM

Beautiful, breathtaking pictures of 'The Man in the Moon'!

Lavender Cottage August 20, 2013 at 4:00 PM

Fantastic shots of the moon, they definitely would make nice note cards.

Barbara F. August 20, 2013 at 4:03 PM

Sue, these photos are amazing and just gorgeous! Love the moon, always did. Visiting from Vee's Note Card Party! xo

Sally Kelly August 20, 2013 at 4:22 PM

podso August 20, 2013 at 7:38 PM

Is this the "blue moon?" Beautiful photos!

Southern Lady August 20, 2013 at 7:41 PM

Wow, Sue! You were definitely in the right place at the right time. Those are truly awesome.

Debbie August 20, 2013 at 8:58 PM

I LOVE everyone of these glimpses of the moon. So true isn't it, so much of life is what angle you look at it from. It was good to hear from you the other day. I have missed you! I think about you often and am glad all is well on the farm! HUGS

Christine August 20, 2013 at 9:43 PM

Great camera shots.
The full moon is called, Green Corn Moon. Isn't that cute?

Mrs.Rabe August 20, 2013 at 9:57 PM

Beautiful, Sue! I love the moon.

I am looking forward to catching up on your blog!

Walking on Sunshine August 20, 2013 at 10:05 PM

They're beautiful Sue! Hope you're doing well. My garden is growing nicely even with my hubby overseas again. Next year we plan on expanding it and maybe opening up a small stand in our driveway. :)

Peggy Jones August 20, 2013 at 10:58 PM

Shooting the moon is the hardest shot to get. We had a great tutorial on Friday Shoot Out a few weeks ago. I am like you I took a lot of shots but only a few were good. My favorite is the one where you got a touch of color in. Tonight would be good for shooting the Blue Moon but it is just too cloudy in my neck of the woods.

Lorrie August 21, 2013 at 12:45 AM

Those are fantastic moon shots. Each one is beautiful and unique. Great idea for a series of note card photos.

Karen and Gerard August 21, 2013 at 5:35 AM

What an unusual collection you have here! I always enjoy seeing a full moon on clear nights--it's so relaxing! Great shots you have here--good job!

Debbie August 21, 2013 at 9:06 AM

The third one is my absolute favorite! I love that. I actually love them all. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to get a moon shot (The real moon... not the other kind) I just can't do it with my cheap, shiny red Kodak. Either that, or I'm just pathetic.

Loved these, and you're right that it's just like life and how we look at it.

Debbie August 21, 2013 at 9:09 AM

Mine always come out blurry. Very nice pics.

Cheryl August 21, 2013 at 10:42 AM

Wow, Sue!! These are amazing shots! You have beautifully captured God's handiwork in these photos. (In any photos that I have ever taken of the moon, it is not God's handiwork that shows up!)

Janette's Sage/Simply Your Decor August 21, 2013 at 10:43 AM

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful.
You know if you ever come to Texas and you pass through DFW...Benjamin and I will come down to see you before you head to San Antonio!

Farm Girl August 21, 2013 at 12:09 PM

Great shots. It was such a incredible moon last night.

Beth August 21, 2013 at 2:45 PM

Incredible shots! That next to the last one with the shadows of foliage is esp. wonderful!:>)

ellen b. August 21, 2013 at 7:45 PM

So lovely, Sue! It really is great when you can get a good shot of the moon!

Susan B August 21, 2013 at 10:51 PM

You got some beautiful shots, Sue! Thank you for sharing them. I'll share them with my grandson...he loves anything about the moon and the solar system. :)

Julie Nichols August 22, 2013 at 8:43 AM

Beautiful photo!!. I tried taking one the other the night and it came out blurry. So happy to see yours. Gods handy work Just Perfectly captured by you.

Angela August 22, 2013 at 4:50 PM

Beautiful! And amazing that they were taken so close together in time.

Happy@Home August 22, 2013 at 5:42 PM

Wow those are beautiful shots of the moon. We have been having some beautiful full moons recently.
Thanks for your visit yesterday, Sue. It was nice to know I'm not the only one feeling the effects of our gloomy days. Today the sun is shining here. Hope it is for you too.

Elena August 23, 2013 at 1:32 AM

Those are amazing shots! Good job!

Barb August 23, 2013 at 11:58 AM

Hi Sue!

Lovely pictures! I have got to start joining in on Vee's notecard party!

I also love the pictures of all of the dew kissed flowers -- just gorgeous!

Melissa Gill August 25, 2013 at 12:23 AM

Your moon shots came out so clear and beautiful!
I've tried and failed many times to capture the moon. My photos always come out blurry. I think i'll have to try a tripod next time.

GratefulPrayerThankfulHeart August 25, 2013 at 4:21 PM

I just LOVE your moon shots! Such clarity. A lovely set of note cards :)

Sharing thoughts from my heart with you,

The farmer and his friends
Thank you so much for coming by, please come and visit anytime.

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

The phrase "There's no place like home", is so true.

No matter where I go, I always love turning the key and hearing that clicking sound in the lock of our back door . Even if I have only gone shopping, I am so happy to be home.

Did you know that every home has its own scent, the first thing I do is sniff the air, and I offer a quiet prayer of thankfulness, and for safety.

My decorating style is my own, I decorate with the colors and treasures that are me. One of the things that I have enjoyed about blogging is the difference in how we all view the world, and our homes. Just like our Creator made each of us to be unique, we create our own unique styles and colors in our own homes. I have learned so much from you and enjoyed your homes so much, and have learned so much about you from your homes...

I truly believe that God wants us to have a safe haven to come home too, a place we can claim as our own,... just like us, homes come in all shapes and sizes if love is there it is our home.., if our things are there it is our home. When we add our own personal touches, it is our home

Home is a place we can go to when the storms of life are raging. I often listen to the wind and rain when it is coming down hard and am reminded of the safety of our sheltering home. It is the one place that we control what and who comes in, (well, most of the time. lol)

Sometimes late at night, when I am unable to sleep I will get up and as I am walking across the room, I hear the floor creek beneath my feet, I go, sit, and listen to other sounds that my home makes, a pop here and there in the wall, it is like the wall is talking to me. A home not only has its own scent, but it also has its own sound. I truly believe that a home takes on its own personality, US!!

So why this blog?....
I wanted a place that I could come, talk about, and share of how my day was spent here at the "farmhouse", and about the things that I do to make it a "home". Making a house a home is a lifetime endever, and I might add a joy, as our lives are always changing.
