Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Written by Sue, Friday, March 7, 2014         cold, wet, windy temps. 40'

What does Sue do on a cold, wet, windy day in March?
She sits by the fire with her best bud, Jack and blogs, I can get lost in blogland, most times I do.

Since she is so homesick for spring she decided to compare the Pear Tree Lane photos of past years either on the same date or near.
This was taken on March 7, 2011, green grass too, hmmm!

This one was taken March11, 2012,.... double hmmm
This one March 18, 2013,.....triple hmmm
Today, March 7, 2014  quadruple hmmmm!so what's the deal here? Do you see a little pink tint, please say yes!

The pears trees usually let me know of how close spring is, so it looks as though Old Man Winter  will be hanging around for a while.... Boo! Hoo! stay tuned!
Enjoy your afternoon,
Sue

Happy Friday, Sue. Jack sure is a cutie. It is fun to look back at past years' spring photos. We had a lot of rain the past two day but the sun is shining today. Harriet, my little dog, is sleeping by my feet.
Wishing you a very nice weekend.
You sure do have pretty views where you live.

I thought I saw a pink tint.

I stepped outside earlier, and where it had been warm, it is very chilly. And this is Florida!

Stay warm!

I could feel spring on the way here. Even though there is still snow on the ground the temperature was close to 50!!! More snow melted today.

I saw a pink tint. Your experiment intrigues and frightens me. I don't know if I would be encouraged or discouraged. My! You do have a cozy companion by the fire there.

Thank you for your kind comment, Sue, I appreciate it so much!

We seem to be stuck in winter mode here in Oklahoma, too. Usually by this time we're seeing buds on the trees.

I love the post about your mother & the cookies. She is so cute!

Smiles,
Carol

Wow, interesting comparisons for sure! We're suppose to be in the 50's here this weekend and we're so excited but would be more excited if it were in the 70's. Maybe one day.

Have a great weekend!

Oh dear. It does feel like winter has set in for the long haul this year...and I'm afraid your photo journal has given evidence.

Spring has to come sometime! (It does, doesn't it?)

Happy, cozy weekend to you, Sue!

Thanks for the look back at your trees! My Cleveland pear is one of the prettiest trees we have! I can't wait until we start having some spring color!

Right now I am just content with the snow melting, sunshine and its going to be 40 degrees today! Heatwave!

Dear Sue, I always love looking at your spread, regardless of the season! Today was no different-at least you don't have snow on the ground. We are supposed to warm up today and tomorrow but more snow next week. It is going to be a long time til spring arrives in Colorado.
Have a delightful weekend dear friend.
Hugs,
Noreen

Hi Sue, We must live somewhere near each other as we had the same kind of weather the last few days but today it's like spring. I did the same thing, looked back at pictures at the same time the past few years and saw how far behind spring is this year, but of course last year we thought it a bit early. I enjoyed reading your post about your mother and her wonderful cookies. Thanks for sharing Perry Como's song--it so describes my mom's house. Even when she was down to one room in the nursing home, when I walked in the door it was like going home. I also love your little apron thing on the side bar--I am transported to my grandmother in her kitchen and her aprons where were almost like a dress they covered so much. and your two chocolate cakes are on plates my mother had that I now have. It just goes to show you we have a lot of commonalities in the blogging world!

I see pink! Your pear tree lined lane is so pretty. Jack looks so cozy there by the fire! Today would be a good day to have a fire going. It's warm one day and cold the next here. Enjoy your weekend!

That is amazing of the pear trees! I know a lot of the country has had a hard cold winter. We had a little in December and it did damage some plants but thank goodness it has lightened up here. Thank you Sue for your sweet comments on my blog. You always warm my heart <3

Wow you are still in winter. We are supposed to hit 85 by the weekend.
It is just crazy how different years can be, I hope you do have a bit of a warm up soon and those beautiful pear trees are blooming soon.
