~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

"In times of troubles"

Written by Sue, Friday, June 7, 2014,,                Overcast temps. 80's

God is so good to me, yesterday with temps. in the high 90's, and very high humidity, let's say it was "HOT". I noticed the air condition was running all day and it wasn't cooling like it should, so Mr P. called the repairman, he stopped by this morning, the unit was frozen, before it could be fixed it would need to be cut off until it thawed, and that he would be by this evening to fix it. Today, I am about to be in the kitchen most of the day canning yellow squash, and making the last strawberry caramel sauce, (oh so yummy great for pouring over  ice cream and pancakes). You might wonder what's the big deal?
Sooooo with no cool air and a hot kitchen, God gave me an overcast sky, and much cooler temps.today! "Thank you heavenly Father."
Nahum 1:7~The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him. I noticed the words,"in times of trouble," meaning this won't be the first nor last time troubles come, but He will always be there for He cares for me. Aren't you glad God doesn't lie? And yes, He cares about strawberries and squash

Washed and ready for slicing

This time of the year finds me almost meeting myself coming and going, but oh! how I love and enjoy it. I just tip my hat, smile, and say,"Carry on my Dear!"
I am trying to take the time to realize how much God is involved in my goings on each day,and to always take the time to say, "Thank You Lord, I Love You".  We as parents and grandparents love to hear the words, "Thank You"," I Love You." I imagine our Heavenly Father does too!
Be Blessed today,
hugs,
Sue

Oh Sue I can empathize with you on the no air conditioning. Ours went on the fritz a few weeks ago and we went a whole week with NO air, and wouldn't you know it we were in a heat wave too with temps well over a 100! Maybe the Lord had a few things to teach me! lol I do know that I was hot! And sadly, grumpy too. And a little complaining and whining went on too. sigh. I wish I would had your attitude. Maybe then the Lord would have given me an overcast sky one day too, lol. Your sauce sounds heavenly, and the squash looks soo good. How I LOVE squash. Enjoy your day Sue, and sure hope it's not too warm in your kitchen today and that air is up and running soon! HUGS

I am so thankful we have a Heavenly Father who cares about the little things. I love that he gave you an overcast day. You do look like you are going to be coming and going. You know this is strange but I like canning when it is hot. No clue why but I seem to get more done. :) Your squash is just beautiful.

Hope you don't get too hot in the kitchen today.
You are so right! The Lord guides us through our daily walk. Thankful that I have someone to watch over me day & night.

Smiles,
Carol

No AC in a hot kitchen? Ai yi yi...I'd have had to change my plans. So glad that you just carried on, my dear. Ha! I am not feeling as if He is guiding just now, but I am knowing it, if you understand what I mean. Take care of yourselves down there and pace yourselves, too!

When the garden comes in it is lots of work. I miss our having a garden. But when you down size you miss a lot.
God is love and people that do not have Him are missing hope and joy in their life.

Thank you for sharing how God is meeting you right in the "trouble" you're having. I love when I am able to 'see' that He is meeting a need.

Your sauce sounds so good. What a busy farm wife you are. Such a blessing and encouragement!

Oh those yellow squash look perfect.
Oh my it is hot by you. We had a sunny day in the mid 60's here - just beautiful.
Great verse - just don't know how people get along without Him!!

Sue,

Isn't it wonderful to know that each little detail of our lives is watched over by our Heavenly Father? I hope you enjoyed your day canning.

It seems to me that the ones who are grateful for all of God's provisions are the ones who see them as such. As some other commenters remarked, I am afraid that I would have complained and I would have been grumpy. I sooooo dislike the heat. But there you are canning away and thanking God that it is cooler than yesterday!

Hope your AC is restored to good health soon!

We have had the no AC in the midst of a very hot summer problem in our home. Hope you get yours fixed soon. I love the scripture you quoted. It is so true that God's tender mercies are all around us. We really don't have to look very far to see His hand in our lives.

Hi Sue, I'm so glad we have a Papa who deeply cares about the littlest detail of our life. Reading about your canning in the heat made me think about our ancestors who had to work outside in the blazing sun; we are a blessed people aren't we.
Praising God for His grace each day.

Noreen

I totally get this!! and I love how you shared it. This week I needed 17 yards of a trim for a client. If they didn't have 17 yards I was going to be in trouble. As I measured it out they reminded me that they didn't have any more. Guess how much was on that spool...18 yards. I smiled and took a picture of that trim to remind me that He was there with me and knew what I needed...and He even provided one yard extra.

Hugs!!!

Oh, you are so inspiring with your words. We came home after being gone 4 days to a bad water leak in an outside line. We were so thankful that it was outside and not inside or we would have been in a huge mess. Yes, He is in the details! Hugs to you!

We all could get caught up in the, "why me?" and loose sight of the blessing that surrounds us.
Great reminder!

Hi Sue, I hope you got the canning and making the sauce all done without wilting in the heat! I have to say that I couldn't have done it. Just call me a wimp! The squash looks pretty, it will be a while yet before we have some. We did get some much needed rains and the garden is looking so much better. I did say "Thank You, Lord"! Have a nice evening and a good week ahead!

Hi Sue!

I can't imagine canning in that kind of heat, so glad you got a reprieve with overcast skies and cooler temps! Heavenly Father does watch over us, and loves to help us in our times of need, very beautiful post!

Loved this post. Praise the Lord for not only his goodness, but your eyes to see it and share it with the world wide web. To be blind to His blessings is a terrible place to be. I know, because I have had seasons of pout without praise and know how miserable it makes me. To be able to see Him so clearly through the troubles is one of the greatest blessings of all, IMO.

So glad you had cooler temps. The humidity is hard to deal with when the temperature gets high. Your produce looks gorgeous. God bless you dear sister!

I don't know who the patron saint of air conditioning is, but I will say a prayer yours is fixed soon! Our season has just started, strawberries just coming in. They were 6 dollars a lb at the farm this week! I won't pay that.
Hope you have a blessed weekend, with cooling in place!

That is certainly quite a relief. We are in times where we ought to pay attention and watch where we're at, especially with the atmospheric conditions hitting like they do nowadays. It's a sudden vascillation between hyper cooling and heat and humidity these days, that we should really have the means to pin things down to a certain temperature. Glad the repair person went in time to deal with the faulty AC unit in your house.
