Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

~It seems that I am always trying to catch up~

Thanksgiving at Mothers, her home was so festive, she loves Christmas and combines it with Thanksgiving! My Dad once asked my Mother why she didn't give Thanksgiving a chance, she told him she did celebrate Thanksgiving, because she was thankful for Christmas!~wink~

My two sisters with my Mom!

Almost ready!

God ordained the family first, so it must be very important to Him! Mother welcoming us all!

It's so hard to get her to sit as she is always serving others!

Many have asked about my Mom, she is doing so well! Endless energy! She is such a Godly example to all of us!

We call her the "Energizer Bunny"!

After lunch when the kitchen was cleaned, and  almost everyone had left except my sister, Mary, her Dh, Mr P. and I! (actually it had been several hours,) as Mother asked if we wanted to stay and have  leftovers, of course we did. One of the things we enjoy doing in our family is to linger at the table  after a meal! Do you?

As we were talking Mother shared two of her favorite Bible scriptures, Psalm chapters 3&4, she says she prays these everyday! Someone just happened to ask her how many times she had read the Bible through, her matter of fact (no brag) reply was "this year I have read it through twice and I am now over half/way the third time!" I thought "I certainly can't say that!" though I wish I could, once again she has set the bar high for me!~smile~I am now challenged to read my Bible more!

Update on my second surgery~
Surgery was Dec. 9th, I am doing exceptionally well, as I still have the same wonderful caregiver! I cannot find the right words to say how thankful I am to be able to see clearly once again(it has been years)! I so regret putting off visiting my eye Dr, please have your vision checked regularly! I am looking forward to next week when I can resume my normal routine, (whatever that is) ~smile~

Love from the farmhouse,
Sue

Your mother is a remarkable woman just like you! Is that her exercise equipment? She would have to read her Bible AND exercise. =>
She hosted quite a few. I see your daughter, too. Yes, we linger around the table and get up and clean and pick our way through the afternoon until it's time for leftovers and we do it all over again the next day. Fun! My mother decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving one particularly wintry November. It was perfect. Here we are in December and the weather is so mild that it is more like October. Different, but I like it.

What a wonderful gathering at your mom's. She really is an inspiration. So glad you all could get together and enjoy Thanksgiving decked out in Christmas! Yippee for your eye surgery and that you are seeing better. My pop reads the Bible a few times each year, too. He reads it in Russian and it's the only book he reads. Praying that your eyes are all healed and you are good to go soon!

Sue I was so happy to get your comment on my blog and hoped I'd soon see a post from you. Here it is! I'm so glad you're doing well after the eye surgery. Yes! It is a miracle that they can actually restore so much of our vision. I'm glad I had this years ago in my 40's and I wouldn't want to go through that again. I know you'll be happy to resume your normal activities. Your mom is such a miracle and a blessing. You are so blessed! And you know that. I see Susan at the table and I know you were happy to have her nearby, and your sisters! Bless your hearts!
Merry Christmas! Post more!

Dear Sue,
Isn't it a miracle??? I know that I wished the same thing. Why did I wait. I do understand those verses so much better now of Jesus healing the blind. It just thrills me because I understand so much better. I am glad you are doing so well.
I love seeing your family and your Mom, she is just fantastic. I hope you have a lovely Christmas.

Sure...This post just warmed my heart, oh your mother is beautiful, just beautiful. I love her spirit that you have shared with us, it's as if I know her and love her.
A godly women certainly is to be praised, and you have done just that in her honor.
Your Thanksgiving table sounds glorious. Our family is big and can be loud at gatherings, but so beautiful.
With dad gone now things are quiet. He was the talker and a great one at that.
Your family is beautiful Sue.
Thank you for sharing worth us the beauty of your mother's home.

Merry Christmas~~ Debbie

Wow, your Mom is truly amazing and such a pretty lady. I cannot imagine that many Cmas decorations. Goodness! Glad you are doing well following your eye surgery. I see my eye Dr. every year without fail. I have a family history of serious eye issues and am hopeful I will not inherit them. Happy week Sue!

Good morning! How I love an update from you! Your mom is just incredible! And what an inspiration she must be to all of you! We USED to linger at the table after a meal, but now with all the little ones it seldom happens, lol. We do linger after we have all of them down however over pie and coffee... Soo glad you are doing so well with your eye surgery recovery. I have lifted you in prayer and wondered how it went! God is good! I used to keep the Christmas decorations down until after Thanksgiving [the day after! lol] but now they go up earlier and its a little combo of the two. Should have done that before, lol. Hope you are enjoying all this season has to offer! Love to you!

Your mom is remarkable and so are you. : )
Everything looks just beautiful and looks like you all had a wonderful time. We don't live near any family so it was just Ken and I but we enjoyed the day. : )
Glad to hear you are doing so well.

I'm glad you are recovering well and enjoying your renewed vision.
The Christmas decorations at your mom's are so beautiful. I'm the same way. We put up our Christmas tree before thanksgiving this year too. It really gives our dark morning and evenings here in Alaska a cozy feel. :) Merry Christmas!

Sue, I am in the same boat...the one named "catch up." I don't think I ever will totally catch up, but I think I am gaining ground. :)

Good times there at your mom's house! She is an incredible lady!!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

Sue, I felt so at home here in your blog. Your mother is amazing! I'd love to sit down with her and have a long talk--that is, if she'd sit still long enough.

Thanks again for stopping by my post today.

So much love,
Julie
