Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

~I think I have been fired, or let go~

Written by Sue, Friday, February 28. 2020,  A bright sunny, crisp , cool day, Beautiful, temps. 50's

I am trying to decide which one it is, Let go, sounds better than being fired, anyhow my outside work is slowly being fazed out , but not really as gardening season is just around the corner, We will be planting these next week. Woo Hoo!

Good news, Mr p. has finally got his freedom, he took off to the store for gas and ran a few errands by himself today, I cautioned him to be careful, but I always do that anyhow.

He has begun to take on more chores outside, with the help of a neighbor friend, the therapist gave the okay. If you live with a farmer, you know they can only take so much inside activities, he has never been a tv watcher, just news and sports in the evening.
🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I asked Dh how many eggs he wanted for breakfast today, "two," I wanted one,

but what a surprise for me when I cracked my egg, we rarely get double yolked eggs, always makes me smile.

I must have been really feeding Lucy Mae well, I told Mr P, I felt sorry for her as the Americana chickens are small, thus they lay smaller blue eggs, poor hen, She was very mischievous last night, she  flew over to the turkey pen, so I let her stay there for an overnight visit, I am happy to say Mr P. and Charlie caught her this morning and she is now back home.
As a child ,my summers were spent at my grandparents farm, one of my chores was to gather the eggs, I still enjoy going to the coop and gathering eggs even now.

I have continued my daily exercising by walking here and about on the farm,(4.5 miles each day) Uncle Joe always run up to the fence for a head scratch, he is so friendly, so sweet, and lets me hug him. I once asked him for a ride, he tilted his head back  hee hawed, with a big grin, I decided not to, as I have seen him buck.

The Bradford Pear trees are in full bloom, so pretty, they have an unusual aroma, which I enjoy.

Having our lane lined with Bradford Pears is how the blog was named, make sense to me. I am counting the days until spring, are you. When the Bradford pear trees are in bloom, I bypass the lane and walk under them, as I walk the wind sends showers of blossoms, this is my time of refreshing and renewing, of body, mind and spirit.

I received this text from son, Dre,yesterday, just made me smile, we as parents pray for our children but isn't it wonderful to know that our children are praying for us too!

Thank you
for all of your encouraging comments, friendship,
may your day be filled
with much joy, peace and contentment,
 love,
 Sue

This was a refreshing breath of fresh air! Farm life!! You make it sound so wonderful. But I know it is a LOT of hard work, 24/7 year round. So wonderful that you both seem to thrive on it. Love your Pear Tree Lane! That would be delightful to walk under this time of year. Send us a scented post next time! LOL. So happy your hubby is able to get back to what he loves most. I know you are thankful that he can do that, even if you have been "let go". Hee Haw!! Have a Great Day!

Two yolks, TWINS..haha. I love being out at a farm around the animals and stuff but that is hard work. Spring is almost here and you will have things popping up all over, esp in that garden....yay.

A lovely post! I thought it would be sad when I read the title, but...it turned out to be a sweet walk around the farm. 😊

I would say let go. To me fired means you were not doing your job, so it sounds like you were let go. I have been there myself when I was working and they ended my job title. I am glad to hear your Hubby is doing well. I am suppose to have two knee surgeries later this year.

A double yolker! That tends to be from young hens, or at least ours produced some double yolk eggs when they were first laying. Oh, to have blossoms on the trees!! We are in a blizzard right now! -Jenn

Sue, I really enjoyed this post. And I would love to take walks with you. Our trees are not in bloom here. Too early, but looking forward to when those blossoms will appear.

Wow double yokes! I can't remember ever having one of those before.
Your trees are blooming already! Must be nice. Months to go here for that yet!
Glad to hear you are enjoying those walks!

So glad that you are getting a reprieve. I know that you will be busy on the farm all the same. It’s great to get a double yolk! How beautiful it is there when the trees bloom! You are the first person I’ve read who likes the particular aroma of Bradford Pear Trees. (I have no idea what it smells like.) Enjoy your beautiful late winter.

What a beautiful place you have! Loved seeing your pictures!
Sherry just bought some Americanas chicken! When I gather eggs at the ranch, I’m reminded of Easter eggs! So many different colors and shades. Your Bradford pear trees are beautiful. We have a few in our neighborhood.
Good for your husband in getting out! recovery is slow sometimes and it’s a blessing to be able to go out and do some things!
Happy Leap Day tomorrow!

Lots of good news in your post today, despite the title! Your pear tree is beautiful! We are so far away from that! Although the first day of Meteorological spring is Sunday! It would be such fun to have a donkey! And fresh farm eggs!

What good news about Hubby. I'd love to take a walk beneath your pear trees. Your farm is beautiful. Yes, it's a lot of work, and for that I commend you and hubby. Your son sounds like a wonderful fellow. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

p.s. I hope that bug is just a pattern on the dish that your eggs are in!

Happy Saturday Sue, I am more anxious for spring than I think I've been in previous years-mainly because it has been so cold and snowy here this year. The older we get the harder the winters are on us-especially hubby since he now does all our shoveling. I love seeing life on your farm; so glad your hubby is getting back to normal.
Hugs,
Noreen

So happy that Mr. P. is progressing soooo welllll... And also glad, that you will have less to do, with farming chores. -smile-

How nice that you let Lucy Mae spend an overnight holiday, in the turkey pen. They must accept her, willingly.

Those Bradford Pear trees in bloom, must be so wonderful and glorious and delightful...!!!!!! Amazing to walk under them, and be showered with fragrant petals!!!!!

Years ago, our youngest son's grade school teacher, gave each of her students, a tiny Plum Tree, which her father had grown. We planted it by the corner of the house, and it grew happily. Spring time was simply delightful, with the aroma from those blossoms. Had to keep our distance though, because the bees where as happy with them, as we were!

Gentle hugs....

I love collecting eggs too. I have one dark olive layer, and one pullet who's laying beautiful blue eggs. So fun!

Sue, I am so pleased to hear that your husband is feeling much better. I am certain he has been itching to get back to work! Collecting eggs is such fun! I wonder why your hen wanted to spend the night with the turkeys? Oh I love the pictures of your pear trees! xo

Hi Sue~

So glad that your husband is up and around, I wouldn't have a hard time giving up those outside jobs. You know what they say, you can't keep a good man down!

I can hardly believe that you will be planing next week, that sounds wonderful! Last year I didn't plant anything, but this year I think I will plant a few veggies.

Your son sounds like a sweetheart, what a nice text! It's always good to know that your children have our backs!! '

Your pear tree is gorgeous!! Take care, Sue!!

Hugs and Love,
Barb

So good to hear about hubby's progress and that he can get out and about and do some chores, too. You did well to keep things going after your helpers flew the coop. A double yolked egg...what a treat. Happy March to you! My sister's internet service is being a bit sketchy so all the photos aren't uploading. I'll come back to see those Pear trees!
