Pear tree lane Farmhouse

~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

Sue~

One of my most treasured gifts is,......

Written by Sue, Tuesday, September8, 2015,                   cloudy, foggy, temps. high 80's, I can feel fall in the air.

this  recipe organizer, given to me by my mother, Doris, in 2003. Hand written by her when she was quite ill, I often wonder why she took the time to do this while battling the flu! But I know her so well, she has such busy hands, and doesn't sit still for long. ~smile~

She began with a special note to me, we are not only mother and daughter, we are best friends!

She gave me her own ten commandments, I can attest that she lives by them!

The pages are filled with her recipes and from her mother and grandmother as well, all tried and true recipes. Every year I ask just one thing from her for Christmas, and that is that she would update it, but we both get so busy and forget, but this year will be different, very soon I am taking the notebook to her, so she will have plenty of time. ~grin~
She even wrote some  baking secrets for me.
At the end of each page she has either written a bible verse, a quote from either herself or others! I love this one.

This photo was taken about two weeks ago while family was visiting, Dh always grills his famous steaks for the family. So many of you have asked how Mother is doing, as you can see she is doing and looking  "Marvelous Darling", (even as I write this she is at work!") Have I mentioned, she is 86yrs. young? We give thanks to our heavenly Father for His healing touches, and many blessings upon our lives!

While here, our oldest son, wanted to bless us with a special anniversary gift, I will update and reveal real soon, Pinky promise!

~A Personal note from me~
I haven't posted in a while, so I have come to the conclusion that I either have the most boring life, or one of the busiest, I am leaning toward the latter, but it could well be a little of both! LOL I have found that the longer I am away from blogging the harder it is to jump back in! I will be trying real hard to remedy this!
That's all the news from the farmhouse for today!
Much love,
 from me to you

I am linking with Stephanie at Roses of Inspiration, thank you for hosting Stephanie,

You have been blessed with a wonderful caring mom. If all moms were as thoughtful as yours the world would be a different place. But Jesus is the reason isn't He. And you can tell she has an authentic walk with Him. Thanks for sharing her with us. And as far as your absence is concerned....I'm sure you're BUSY!
Hugs good friend!

Sue, what a sweet treasure that handwritten recipe organizer is! Love the special personal notes in it, too. You are blessed and it's great that you know that and honor your mother. Looking forward to that special gift your son is creating for you. Have a wonderful week!

Good morning Sue! Can't tell you how much this visit blessed me AS ALWAYS! LOVE stopping by here as it always lifts me up and warms my heart. What a wonderful mother you have! And it is soo easy to see of course why this is one of your most treasured items. My mom had a recipe box full of her favorites, many of which are in her own handwriting and full of little notes and tips to herself. Somehow [and with 3 sisters this is a definite "somehow"] this box became mine. How I love reading through these now would be hard to express. My mom was not as strong spiritually as your mom and often leaned on me in this area in her later years. But her impact was still strong. Your mom is the kind of mom and grandma I strive to be and work hard at it as it is not easy when life and hardships get in the way. Soo glad to see she is going strong and feeling well. She is no doubt a huge inspiration to many, just as she is to me. Hope you have a good week!....oh and btw, your life is FAR from boring...or if it is it is an interesting boring, lol. I love reading of your happenings! Blessings and hugs to you!

We loved this post! That's right, I read much of it aloud to John who then very much wanted to see the beautiful lady responsible for the wisdom. You are living a good and blessed life and I am so pleased that you share it with us when you can. The days will slow a bit before they crank up again for the holidays so I hope that we'll see you more often then. Take care of your sweet self!

Hi Sue! There isn't much I can say that the others haven't said. I won't tell you how blessed you are because you already know that! I will say that I enjoyed this beautiful post immensely and that your mother is a beautiful lady, inside and out! She has a daughter who takes after her, too. Thank you for sharing your mother with us today. I loved reading her wise words. Take care and have a nice week!

Hello, I think that by taking the time to write out that 10 commandments that she lived by shows she had great wisdom! I know what you mean about blogging! I find it harder to comment most the time as the days just get so busy.
I do hope you start having some cooler weather and much joy in your days!
We all appreciate all that you write!
Hugs, Roxy

I am so glad your Mom is doing so well. I love that cookbook. What a very sweet thing she gave you.
No, you are just so busy. I have found that out to be so true, when I stop blogging it really is hard to think of something to write. I am so glad every thing is doing so well.

Due~~ This was a beautiful tribute to your mother and her precious love for Jesus.
You are blessed in deed to have such a treasure from your mother. She sounds like a lovely lady, and by the looks of her she is amazingly young looking for the age you say she is.

Blogging has it's times when you just need away time, no worries, we'll be here when you pop in from your busy life.

Thank you for your sweet comment and visit, bless your heart.

Joy! Debbie

Hi Sue!

What a special gift from your sweet mom...how special it is to have it all written in her own handwriting! I'm sure it will be treasured and passed down for generations to come . . .

I know what you mean about blogging! I have decided that blogging is one of those things that gets put on the back burner, but one of the things that I miss the most when I'm not doing it!

Have a glorious Autumn!

Hugs,
Barb

Hi Sue, What a blessing that you still have your mother! Such wonderful family gatherings and I'm guessing you are getting a fire pit. Blogging has become boring for me-in that I have a hard time being creative, plus add in all my activities and sometimes it's just hard to post let alone visit everyone I want to. Heaven Knows, I could spend the whole day sitting here in blog land.
Much love to you.

I am so glad to hear that your mom is doing so well! I love the notes and recipes she wrote while she was sick, I especially like her 10 commandments!.....such wisdom! My life has also been too busy for blogging, I miss it and hope to return. We have been doing an addition onto our home for my mother and also remodeled and updated her home and got it sold. wow, we started this in February or March and we are still not done. I have taken some pictures and I have before pictures so I will be sure and take some after ones and hopefully I will be able to write a post about the whole process and maybe even share some of the things I have learned along the way... Blessings!
