~Welcome home~

This blog is dedicated to my dear family who live many miles away, and to you dear ladies , who have a heart for keeping the home fires burning. You, who love and cherish your family, and have a desire to create a home that says "Welcome, you are loved and cared for."

My desire is that when you leave that you will be encouraged and know that you too are loved.

~Every photo has a story~

Written by Sue, Wednesday, September 18, 2019~ Whoo Hoo Fall is visiting, sunny, cool, 70's
Here are a few of my photos with my  stories ...
Hydrangeas have been hard for me to get to bloom, I mentioned this to Mr P. who has such a green thumb, his reply was "No worry, Sue, I will take care of them for you," and he did, he faithfully watered, fertilized, and kept a watchful eye. Thus...

I will be cutting and drying these beauties, I also have three more hydrangea bushes that are blooming. Do you agree with me that Mr P. has an exceptional "green thumb, and is a loving husband"?

Dear One also mentioned how the fall, scents and decorations reminded him of pumpkin pie, sooo... Oh! it was quite tasty too,
This fella creates a new story every day, his name is "Uncle Joe," he is saying, "This corn is mine, all mine."He is so mischievous, but ever so sweet.

Here is the story about these two wreaths....
Last December we lost our precious, sweet pastor's wife, Lorrie, she was a  wonderful person, so giving, loving, and generous to all, she also had  a beautiful singing voice.Pastor Lynn was going through Lorrie's treasures, and asked if I would like her fall wreaths, of course I am  honored to hang  them on our doors in honor of her memory. This is the back entrance.
The only change I made on the front entrance was the bow, I wanted it to match the bows I bought for the bannisters and lights.

So here are my stories on this beautiful pre-autumn day. I enjoy seeing your photos,  and know that they too, have a story to tell. Sometimes our stories are happy, sad, funny, full of pride for accomplishments, future plans, and goals, decorating ideas, etc.

So dear friends keep sharing and telling for we are all creating lifetime memories.

Wishing you much joy and happiness
while you  travel this road known as "Life".

Your husband has done a wonderful job with the hydrangeas and you did a wonderful job with the pie! Lorrie's wreaths upon your door are a bittersweet blessing I am sure. How wonderful for her to be safely home with The Lord and how nice of your pastor, her husband, to think of you. Looks as if you and Lorrie were two peas in a decorating pod.

Hats off to your dear hubby who cared for those hydrangeas and coaxed them to such beauties! Wowzers. So beautiful and healthy looking. That was a sweet gesture for your pastor to offer those wreaths to you. That pie! A work of art. Uncle Joe is a cutie and looks like he can get into mischief. We are in a rainy pattern here and it feels like fall and a pot of soup!

Your husband does have a way with those lovely hydrangea. The color is beautiful and I bet you will have pretty dried ones soon. The wreaths are so pretty and so meaningful to you. How sweet that your pastor shared them with you. We are having weather more like fall today and I couldn't be happier.

The hydrangeas are very pretty.
I had 3 bushes in the garden at the old house and they never did bloom. I could have used your husbands expertise. : )
How nice that your pastor gave you his wife's wreathes. They must be very special.

Sue, Mr. P definitely has a green thumb, evidenced by the beauty he coaxed out of those hydrangeas!

Your wreaths must bring sweet memories as you see them on your doors. That was a thoughtful and generous gift from your pastor.

Love Hydrangea plants....I have no issues growing them. I stuck them in the ground almost 20 yrs ago and off they went. However, getting a beautiful blooming years has been hard. My last beautiful time when all the branches were loaded down was in 2010 when Nashville had the historical floods, my creek soaked the bushes. They are AMAZING. I have been reading up on them and what to help them along with for next yrs blooming. Cut them back, which I have never done and feed them a certain time of yr....gotta be sure and try that. Beautiful fall decor. I love fall, I love the smells, I love the colors and I love the cooler temps....bring on the fall.

Hi Sue~

Beautiful Hydrangeas!! What a blessing you and your husband are for each other - you bake and he keeps things green, I love it!!

Uncle Joe is adorable!! You can tell that he has a great personality. We acquired a stray duck this summer, who is still with us! My husband calls her, Huck, and she is the same way, just full of mischief!

What a blessing from your Pastor, and what a sweet way to remember his dear wife, I love it.

I am loving these cooler days as well...I love autumn!!

Hugs and Love,
Barb

Hi Sue,
Oh be still my heart.......I am a hydrangea lover too, and yours are simply
gorgeous....what a sweet hubby you have...they will be so beautiful when dried as well.
Glad yall faired pretty well in the storm, hope you were able to find some
one to fix your roof leak quickly, also enjoyed seeing all your fall decorations....that was so sweet Your Pastor offered you his late wifes wreaths. That was quite an honor, and I see you have them displayed very
nicely.
I am so ready for some cool weather. We are 85 today which is cooler but
still pretty hot. Hubby said we are suppose to go to 67 for a few nights,
but I am sure it will be much higher temps in the day time. lol
Also ready for hurricane season to be over for sure. Hoping and praying
that these storms keep going out to sea. So far, the Lord has answered the
prayers of many I am sure.
You take care and hope this finds you doing really well. Your donkey is
so cute....Old Joe, I like that name.....
Love and Blessings hon,
Nellie

I've almost given up growing Hydrangeas. I transplanted three this year and they finally began to grow. So much heat in Oklahoma. If they aren't in the RIGHT SPOT they will die every single time!

I'm TRYING!!!! <3

Happy Fall dear Sue, I've been so remiss lately in blogging and visiting, but hope to get back into the swing of things now. I love the wreaths that your Pastor gave you, such a wonderful reminder of his wife. Your hydrangeas are incredible. Mine are still small and I'm hoping by next year they get bigger. They are only in partial sunlight, which seems to be the problem. I do love them though.
Sending hugs and love your way.
