Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend, ours was relaxing with our new book, and keeping an eye on hurricane Dorian. The uncertainty of where it will go and when has most folks on edge. Tomorrow will be spent around here making preparation, just in case. Thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected so far.
After lunch we went to Tractor Supply for some mineral blocks for the sheep and donkeys, while there I was drawn to the sound of peep, peep, peep, just couldn't resist these sweet guys, they were on sale for $1.00 each, reg. $5.69. It took a little convincing (please, please, while batting my eye lashes) before Mr P. okayed it. Now, who could resist these pretty faces.
After getting them settled in their new home,
Dh and I went inside finished our book, Last of The Saddle Tramps. I can't say enough of how much Mr P. and I enjoyed this book, we learned so much about the human spirit, the bond between a woman and her animals, aka her companions, and of how basically helpful and caring people were for each other and their love of animals. She chose to call the circumstances on this trip, foreordained, I am inclined to agree with her.I f you want to know what four out of five means you will have to read the book.😘😘😘
Mesannie called herself, a Saddle Tramp, but we have chosen to call her a "Lady" in every sense of the word.
So much more to tell, but I won't spoil it for anyone who chooses to read it. Vee, can recommend a book for me any day.
blessings,
Sue

They are adorable! Next post I want to know what you named them!
Sounds like a good book and those ducklings are cute as they can be:)
Oh they are so adorable. I would be so silly raising these little ones and wanting to hold and play with them.
Of course, you brought them home! What a bargain and ohhh so cute. They’ll provide a lot of entertainment in the coming weeks.🐥
Phew! I am glad that you enjoyed the book. I am a nonfiction girl myself so essays and personal accounts are the kinds of books that appeal to me. I think it’s why I love blogs!
(Hang right, Dorian, hang right!)
Oh my, those little ducklings are so precious, and such a bargain! I just know you are going to enjoy them. That book sounds wonderful. I may have to look it up. You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.
Hi Sue,
Sounds like a lovely labor day....those lil peeps are adorable...so see why
you could not resist. Sounds like an interesting books as well.
Our labor day weekend was all about hurricane prep, but we finally finished
yesterday and are ready, and thankful that it is offshore and praying it
stays there and goes even further out.
I can hardly stand to think of those pour people in the Bahamas and what they
have been thru since Sunday. Someone told me they heard they took cruise ships in to get people out before the storm. I am so hoping that is true.
I was thinking that crusie ships would be a perfect solution for fema to
commission, cause it provides a place to live and eat and shower and sleep
and give them something to do, and if it was anchored there, they can get off the ship to check on their homes and stuff or go to work if there is
any place left to work.
Dorian should pass us by 8pm Tonight. just saw it has been down graded to a
Cat 2 praise the Lord. Well, this is all we have been sleeping and breathing since last Friday, just thankful we have so much time to prepare.
But will be exceptionally happy once it passes us and our daughter in
Charleston......
Take care sweetie,
Love and Blessings,
Nellie
Oh my goodness...not a wonder how you couldn't resist those sweet baby ducks! Now I want some....and since I'll be living in the country soon...well...you know what I mean. ;) I bet that book was really great...so glad you enjoyed it! Blessings!
Oh, those chicks are so cute and all my Grans would love to have some. Tractor Supply is the best, such good stuff in that store. We have one just down the road. Have a great rest of the week!
Oh those little ducklings are the cutest little things. It sure would be hard NOT to bring them home.
I love walking around Tractor Supply. We have one near us (15 miles) and stop in often.
Sue, that book sounds delightful! And those little ducks are blessed to join your "flock". I look forward to watching them grow. I'm praying for those effected by Dorian. I don't think NC will get too much from it (I hope!).
Baby ducks! :)
Hmmm . . . batting your eyelashes? Maybe I'll try that! Bekah and I would dearly love to have another cat to go along with the stray we have taken in. Ron says no. But maybe if I bat my eyelashes . . . Those baby ducks are darling! I'm glad Mr. P conceded.
Praying for all of those in Dorian's path!
Sounds like you had a nice day and the babies are so adorable!
