Written by Sue, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 Hot! Hot! and very hot! temps. 100
Sunday afternoon, lots of wind, hail, and rain, we are truly thankful that we, our animal friends, and home are safe.
However, some of our trees and landscape didn't survive, we lost 5 of our Bradford pear trees..
surveying the damage....
The sheep waiting to go out to pasture, and so glad the storm is over,of course there has to always be one who is out. Truth is Tulip is waiting for her bottle.
Lucy going with me to survey the damage, here she is taking the time to let the horses know who is boss. Rainy just looks at her and goes back to eating.
Bradford pears are known for splitting...
Mr P., a neighbor, and I got busy cleaning, they cut and moved the trees
And away we go...
My job was to pick up debris, rake, and try to get the flower beds back to normal
She survived!! a little battle worn, but still glowing!I think I did a pretty good job, Don't you? ~grinning~
Psalms 30:5~......Weeping may endure for the night, but Joy comes in the morning. I took this photo this morning, I also think Mr. P did a fantastic job, we have a few more days of work, and hopefully some normalcy will resume. Hmmm! what is that?
Storms of life will always come our way, our problems here at the farm are so minute compared to what so many are facing, but one thing for sure, Our God is always so faithful.Deuteronomy 7:9~Know therefore that the Lord thy God, He is God which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generation; Whatever you are facing please know that God loves you, cares for you and He is faithful, Always!!
Wishing you a most blessed and happy July 4th,celebration!
Blessings,
Sue

WOW! That looks like quite the storm. I love your pear tree lined drive and it's a shame you lost so many trees. However, in spite of the damage everything still looks great! Your garden is beautiful and the plants don't look damaged at all. I'm glad everyone was safe. Happy Fourth!
I didn't realize the storm affected you and your property. Those are amazing photos, especially the after! You got everything cleaned up really nicely. Beautiful scripture you quoted. Hope you have a nice holiday tomorrow! Say hi to your hubby for me!
Oh NO!!!!!!!! Can you hear me yelling all the way from TEXAS!!! This looks like what happened around here...oh my!! I am so glad everyone is safe...so, so sorry...now just why can't I hop in the car and come give you a hand? We must take this up with the Lord.
Oh sweet one..the house and now the outside...many, many prayers and hugs coming your way!!
Your beautiful place will shine from the inside out....the house and all the grounds. Keep you chin up!!
Hugs, hugs, and prayers from Benjamin and I both...he is still trying to talk me into coming your way, he looked at the map and said, "it isn't too far",
The weather angels have been very busy all over.
You both did a wonderful job getting back to normal.
Always enjoy a visit with you on your beautiful farm.
Happy 4th of July

You really did have a storm! I'm so sorry for the loss of the trees and whatever plants suffered damage. You both do such excellent work. Your property looks beautiful! So glad that your hibiscus survived. This story reminds me of an entirely different storm this 4th of July... Sometimes I think too much. Have a blessed holiday! Don't spend much time working if you can help it!
Oh my! I'm so sorry you had all that damage, but so glad you are okay and it wasn't worse than it was. You and hubby did a tremendous job in cleaning up and restoring order. The gardens look beautiful.
The scripture you share is perfect. Have a safe and Happy 4th!!
That must have been some storm to knock or split 5 trees! I like your attitude, that you just get up and keep on going.
It all looks so pretty, storm or not.
I am glad that you were both okay.
I am so sorry you lost those trees!
Glad that everyone and the animals and house are fine!
You both did a great job with your clean up!
Your husband reminds me of mine...such a hard worker!

Dear Sue, So thankful that you didn't have more damage! Your yard is incredible; I think I've told you before that you should give tours-I'd sure pay to see it all. Love your landscaping and glad your Hibiscus made it, but sorry about the trees. Love seeing Lucy out too.
Blessings on your 4th dear friend.
Hugs, Noreen
You have a beautiful place Sue and so much to be thankful for. Glad to see your damage was not worse. Your Hibiscus looks happy to have made it through the storm :)
Oh Sue, praise the Lord you and hubby were kept safe!
That must have been frightening for you both!
And yes - you certainly did do a great job in your pretty garden :-)
You and Mr P are real "troopers".
Thanks so much for visiting me and praying for my healing.
I truly appreciate your kindness!
Lots of love and blessings..Trish xx
Oh, dear Sue, That was a lot to clean up. Things are looking lovely again after all that damage!
Sue, what a lot of damage these storms have brought, but I am grateful (as I know that you are!) as I look around and see how much we were spared. I pray for those who have suffered.
Please take your time doing the clean up in this oppressive heat! I just know that you and Mr. P. will have your beautiful farm all looking as good as new in no time!
Hugs to you, my friend...
Hello, there, Sue! Goodness! It looks like y'all had some rough weather, but I am so glad y'all are all ok! And what beautiful scriptures you included with this post.....
Big hugs,
Jenni
Even among your debris and damage, your farm is beautiful.
It's heart breaking knowing that there was so much destruction, everywhere. What a blessing, that there wasn't any injuries.
Wow- that was a big storm- you and DH cleaned up pretty quick and it looks just beautiful!
What a lovely place you have! And it looks like you did a super job, cleaning everything up after the storm :)
So sorry that you lost some of your trees Sue. Your property is so beautiful. I hope you and your husband are enjoying a wonderful July 4th! :)
Oh no! I'm so sorry to read that you lost some of the pears on Pear Tree Lane!
That looked like a horrible mess of hailstones. I'm glad no one was hurt.
I love how you dealt with it, and the way that you wove this into a lesson. It seems that I have had more than my share of hail in recent years, but He has been faithful through every storm and hasn't failed me yet.
Wow, what a storm that was. I was so sad to see the trees that you lost. I am thankful no one got hurt and your house and flower gardens are OK. Your land and farm is so beautiful!! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July. Hugs, Elena
Hi Sue....
I just happened upon your blog. Love, love your gardens!! It's so sad to lose mature trees! We are always losing trees in our woods....luckily they keep us supplied with firewood for the long winters!

Oh what a shame to have lost those pretty trees. You and Mr. P did a great job at taking care of business. Everything looks so beautiful now. That hibiscus is such a pretty color.
We bought some SC peaches from a farm stand yesterday. I couldn't figure out what the dents in them were until the farmer told me it is hail damage. Seems they have had a lot of hail too.
I hope you are staying cool.
my goodness - glad all is well .. beautiful place - farm life is filled with such events to do with weather -- when I lived in Utah we had snow on July 4th and that was the end of our garden that summer..
hugs - for your back to normal days!..
Sue,
Sorry to see what happened to some of the Bradford pears. I've seen them split like that before. ;(
Glad the hibiscus made it. One of my favorite flowers!
That 2nd to last picture is gorgeous. What a beautiful place to live, and what a blessing to be Keeper of the Home.
What a storm!
